Features
Call of Duty 4 Technology – Built using the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine, Call of Duty: World at War utilizes a bedrock of technology that delivers jaw-dropping visuals, while empowering players to employ elements like fire to affect the dynamics of the battlefield.
Coordinated Assault and Support – For the first time in the franchise, Call of Duty: World at War introduces co-op, bringing fresh meaning to the “No One Fights Alone” mantra. Call of Duty: World at War co-op features up to four-players online, or two-player local split-screen, allowing gamers to experience harrowing single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution.
New Theaters of Operation – Players fight as U.S. Marines and Russian soldiers facing enemies – some new to the Call of Duty franchise – that employ lethal new tactics and know no fear, no mercy, nor the rules of war.
Innovative Multiplayer – Multiplayer builds from the success of Call of Duty delivering a persistent online experience for more squad based interaction. New development with party systems allows an intimacy with squad based combat never before seen in Call of Duty.
Cinematic Quality Graphics and Sound – Treyarch’s award-winning sound department returns with effects that add to the already immersive cinematic intensity of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare game engine.

3 out of 5 eggsso so

Pros: Well, for me, it was free because it came with my GPU. Plays very easily with a single 8800gts, no lag at all and only uses 50% of my Phenom II 550 dual core(which is OC'd to 3.6ghz).

Cons: Well maybe it's just me but I don't like the old guns that you only ever get a couple shots off and it has to reload, which also takes forever. Somehow the enemy constantly shoots at you while you take forever to reload. I would rather have more modern guns, so this game just isn't for me.

Other Thoughts: I got it for free with my GPU, otherwise there's no way I would spend $20 on this game.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Game.

Pros: Like it a lot, nice maps, team squad (+ there), more game modes, and as for me I really like the World War cenario.

Cons: This is a support con from activision as they should provide the download for they game patch not make everyone go crazy from one site to another to try to find mirrors, but I can live with that. As many people said it didnt change a lot from CoD4 but between CoD 4 and CoD WaW I would go for this one always.

Other Thoughts: Runs fine with a 8800GTS in SLI mode at 1900x1200.

1 out of 5 eggsShould be better

Pros: None, the game never worked.

Cons: First of all, activision you blow. This game promised to have some of the best graphics out and storyline that would differ from the 800 other WWII games out. I am sure the storyline is great but am unable to tell you as the game never worked. My laptop meets and exceeds all the requirements and yet still does not play. My good friend has the same machine and plays just fine. I have bought 2 games thinking it was a bad disk to no avail. There may be some program running on my machine blocking the game but I wouldn't know. I have sent activision 5 e-mails to the address they indicated on their own website and they don't bother to answer. Not a problem for me though, EA games actually cares about CUSTOMER feedback and answers questions that come from an apparantly flawed game. Being I am not the only one with these problems and the same response from activision I suspect you may lose more CUSTOMERS.

Other Thoughts: Looks like BFII and the likes will stay number 1.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's okay

Pros: Decent game so far. I haven't gotten all the way through yet but so far it's pretty good. The flame thrower is good fun.

Cons: A lot of people complained about the return to WWII setting. I think if you take as a WWII game it's great, but after playing COD 4 Modern Warfare it is definitely not the same. This is a non issue for me though b/c I am fascinated by WWII - not that this game is particularly educational...

Other Thoughts: Overall it's a pretty good game.

2 out of 5 eggsNot the greatest game in the world.

Pros: It will take up about 6 hours of your life going through the single player

Cons: Hmm...where to start? First off, the campaign sucks. It feels like you're playing through some 1940's fictional war. It has very, VERY, little in regards to WW2. There is always a soundtrack playing and it distracts from gameplay. The online sucks even worse. I could not get into ANY servers. I have PunkBuster enabled and no matter what I would do, I could not get into any servers. I could see them, but when I would double click on them, the game would do nothing.

Other Thoughts: Acitivision has some great games. This definitely isn't one of them. Save your money. Go buy something else. This game is not worth the cash.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid game, import version plays well with others.

Pros: Fantastic game play, very smooth online experience.
Lots of re-playability due to online unlocks, etc.
Import version works just fine with standard versions, online and in LAN settings.

Cons: Not really with the game play itself, but WWII has been done to death.

The ability for many online servers to give crazy amounts of XP for playing online. Basically this means that you can hit the maximum online level of 65 in under an hour of online play on certain servers.
