It's been ten years since the release of Fallout 2 and 227 years after the nuclear devastation that all but destroyed humanity and now Bethesda Games returns you to the post-apocalyptic remains of what used to be Washington DC, packed with detail and excitement as you explore 2277. You get multiple challenges with consequences or rewards based on your actions. Build your character through pivotal events of your childhood in Vault 101. Assign skill points to reflect your style of play and put yourself to the test as you venture out into the sunlight in the shattered remnants of Washington DC in search of your father – the first man to leave the Vault.

You'll have to balance finding food to regain health against your radiation level – putting the struggle for survival in very real terms. Character interaction can lead you to shortcuts or dead-ends. Side quests give you the opportunity to gain aid and allies and more detail than you can pick-up on a single play-through. Play in either first- or third-person perspective as combat goes beyond simple run-and-gun with the Vault-Tech Assisted Targeting System (VATS) which lets you pause the action and spend points to target a specific part of your foe with dramatic results if you hit.

Make sure that you take care of your weapons, as they'll wear out without maintenance. Your character can combine weapons into newer, more powerful ones – if you took that skill. You'll find touches of the same dark humor that set Fallout apart in the first place along with retro 1950's styles set against the ruins. Prepare for the future!

Vault 101 – Jewel of the Wastes.

For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland.

Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world.

Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering.

Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown.

leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: NOT for the inexperienced gamer, this will challenge experienced gamers with a rich featured environment where YOUR actions dictate the path of the game. Ran at max settings on my i5 overclocked..it is a few years old

Cons: steep learning curve at first. Be prepared to invest a dozen hours before you throw your hands up. It would be a mistake if you do.

Other Thoughts: Well worth the money, unlike a few other titles I've played lately

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The graphics were very well done for its time. What makes this game is the overall environment, I am yet to come across another game that has as much engaging depth as this one. I bought this game several years ago and I still play it. It's gotten me to buy my own Vault-Tec lunchbox and make a Nuka-Cola bottle. A must-have experience for anyone who calls themselves a gamer.

Cons: The leveling system is more rigid than other Bethesda products, such as Skyrim and Oblivion. Not much else other than that.

5 out of 5 eggssupport good publishers

Pros: game play , features, this game came out with a very cool chat system in the game with the NPC's , it really changes the way you play FPS , puts you in to a really cool enviroment game performs great on many settups even weak ones ,and looks very good , tons of DLCs which are fun.the game is very massive even without the dlc's!!! , unless you just follow all story quests from the begging. ooo VATS is really kul , gota love followers .

Cons: NOT DX11,jk not same time era, no quad core support,na don't need it, can't disable Vertical sync yeah this is the only one that bothers me , i can really feal the difference beteween 200 fps and 75 fps, difference between a head shot while a guy is running or not , thats just the level i'm at .

Other Thoughts: this game really reminds me of the movie "Book of Eli" , i bet the guy who made that movie played this game at one point.
Ooo just one last random thought , America/world don't let a repeat of stalker, support the publisher of these awesome single player games, peace

5 out of 5 eggsBethesda's Finest

Pros: Despite what many will tell you, not liking TESIV Oblivion does NOT mean that you will dislike this game. I did not care for Oblivion until I modded it, however Fallout 3 stands as one of my favorite games of all time, and is easily my favorite Bethesda title to date (why yes, I HAVE played Skyrim AND Morrowind).

What makes this game so special to me is that the game makes its characters special to me. While character development of the NPCs is nowhere on the order of, say, Mass Effect, I still found myself caring about the fates of the NPCs and, consequently, the fate of the game world. I felt like my choices MEANT something.

Fallout 3 also sports a very large game world that, unlike Cyrodiil, is fun to explore. Your first time through the game will be riddled with delightful surprises, I can almost guarantee it.

Cons: Certain rooms have a tendency to cause my computer to crash, though I assume that has more to do with the fact that I'm limping along with 2.20 GHz. (Fortunately, I get the parts for my new rig next week. Yay!)

Other Thoughts: I'm sorry, why haven't you played Fallout 3 yet? But really, if you were even interested enough to check the reviews, you'll probably love it. Buy it, or forever regret decisions not made.

Also, as my name implies, I tend to be a bit of a---well---Bethesdatard. I may be subject to a little bias.
Buy it anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsThat was fast

Pros: Delivery was fast. 5 days exactly, even came on a Sunday morning stamped with "Time Sensitive Material". Fallout 3 being time sensitive? I would see that if I was ordering some cooked eggs, but Newegg treats even video games as serious material.

Cons: It could have arrived in 3 days, then I really would have been impressed.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat game but stability issues

Pros: It is a great game with endless hours of gameplay provided you don't finish the main quest line. If you finish the main quest line, the game ends and you can't explore any more like you could in Oblivion. Worth buying and playing.

Cons: Some stability issues but those are to be expected with a PC game I suppose.

4 out of 5 eggsFinally, it runs longer than 15 min.

Pros: Great graphics, great story and interaction with the world. Be good, be bad, be whatever you want to be. Go wherever you want to go and do whatever you wish when you get there.

Cons: None, it's a good game, now.

Other Thoughts: Took all these patches to get it stable on my system. But it's stable now and I'm recanting my earlier review of how terrrrrrrrrrible the experience is. Get this game.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Game!

Pros: I enjoyed this game very much. And can't wait to go back in and play again! SO many ways to play your character.

Cons: It's so good it sucks you in and you loose track of time!!! All I do is think if the game when I" maway from it... mmm I may have a problem... something about an addiction to video games... ah nothing like more game time to fix that!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Game

Pros: You can beat the game in 20 hours, but you can explore for at least 100 hours.

Runs very smooth on my three year old computer (has a 9600 gso, and a 2.0 ghz dual core) on high settings (there is an ultra high too)

If you get lost in the map, you will run into a city or some sort of quest.

Tons of side quests do all of them!!

Open world map

Cons: This game is better then half life 2, which makes me a bit upset at Valve for not releasing half life 3!

Very addicting, I sit and play for 3-4 hours at a time

There is a special targeting system called VATS that freezes gameplay to, and zooms in on enemy's. It lets you pick where you want to shoot, like if you want to cripple them, or shoot their gun out of their hand. This system is amazing, but it can sometimes cause the game to crash to the desktop, it's a big bug, nothing to do with performance. Just be sure to save often

In order for auto save to work you must login to games for windows Live every time!! Which is a bit annoying

If you have to go to one side of the map to the other it takes like 30 minutes to walk there! You can teleport to places you have been to though.

I used a few cheats, and it messed up the game real bad. After beating one quest, it told me that I had to go back and do it again. Don't use cheats! All I used was a no clip cheat, and it messed

Other Thoughts: This game is absolutely incredible!! My favorite game series used to be the half life series. But now it's Fallout 3 and I haven't even beaten the game yet! Many of my friends told me that one mistake they made was beating the game too quickly. They skipped many of the side quests, and did the main one's and the game lasted them 20-30 hours. If you do all the side quests it could give you 100 hours of gameplay which is awesome!!

Don't use CHEATS until after you beat the game!! I used the no clip a few times and it messed up my navigation system. After I finished a quest, there was a cut scene, and I left one of the vaults. But it didn't unlock the next quest!! It told me to go back, when I went back i played through the vault, got outside and nothing changed. So I had to go back about five hours, but oh well. BUY THE GAME! I bought it off steam, cuz it was on sale for the weekend for 20 bucks, but now it's 45 bucks on steam so buy it here!
