Fallout
It's the year 2161, 84 years after a two-hour-long war that destroyed most of civilization. Mankind soldiers on, living out a hardscrabble life on the surface or holing up in great Vaults built inside caves. You're a member of Vault 13 somewhere in Southern California, and the Vault Overseer's got a job for you: find a replacement water purification chip within 150 days, or your home is doomed.

Fallout 2
It's been 80 long years since your ancestor, the "Vault Dweller" trod across the wastelands. As you now search for the Garden of Eden Creation Kit to save your primitive village, touch choices and even tougher consequences await you.

Fallout Tactics
A departure from the character-heavy RPG style of traditional Fallout games, Interplay's Fallout Tactics is instead a squad-based tactical RPG, utilizing both turn-based and real-time mechanics. As part of a split faction of the Brotherhood of Steel, the player controls a team that attempts to grow and expand across Fallout's barren wastelands by recruiting outsiders to embark on combat-heavy missions. Though vastly different from other Fallout titles, Fallout Tactics is a solid and enjoyable title that fans of the series would do well to explore.

3 out of 5 eggsFun package-my mistake

Pros: The games themselves are pretty fun. Big fan of fallout series.

Cons: The games themselves are very old and design specifically for lesser hardware and Direct X functions. The game itself can be unstable at time while using Win 7 64 bit. Some of them can only run in windowed mode only.

Other Thoughts: I gave it 3 eggs since its particularly my fault for assuming these old games would run on my system without any issues. I took off the eggs since it also fell upon newegg for deciding to sell games that are mostly based on legacy software. But I just gave it to my younger family member of the house and she is loving it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a great package if you still like the originals. I think this is really cool that Bethesda allowed the old games to come back with added patches to make them work in the newer operating systems. Very well done indeed there will always be a certain level of fun you get from playing old games that can't be matched by the newer verity of today. Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely love Fallout 3. All I'm saying is that old games have a certain characteristic that is unmatched by the newer verity.

Cons: None that I can think of. But then again I've only owned it for one day now. :P

Other Thoughts: I just wanted to point out to the review about this not being from Bethesda. Yes this package is from Bethesda in one way or another since It says that these three games are registered trademarks from Bethesda LLC. Even though they were developed by Interplay and Black Isle. Bethesda is the current owner of the series. Please read the fine print at the bottom.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for fans

Pros: I have owned Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics since the day they were released, Fallout 2 is still one of the most played and greatest games of all times, 10 years running. This package contains all the titles at 1/2 the price it cost for 1 game. Get it if you like Fallout, or if you've only played Fo3.

Cons: There is no indication of Bethesda, the games were made by Interplay and Blackisle studios- Bethesda owns the title now but did not have any say in the making of these games, Neweggs title is misleading, and of course, it does not contain Fallout 3, the price should have given that away though.

The games are still a little buggy, I suggest heading to NoMutantsAllowed (google it) to get Patches and Unofficial patches created by dedicated players and devs to make the games run smoother and better for all systems. Including patches that fix things past the official patch 1.2 for Fallout2 - there were thousands of things not fixed in patch 1.2 for Fo2, unofficial patches have fixed many of them, if not all.

Other Thoughts: I think it's silly people would think this has Fo3 in it, especially since the description is very clear.

This is a great buy, especially if your like me and one disc has gone missing or has been broken for one of the games.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Game - Bad Copy

Pros: I picked this up because I kept reading about the Fallout games, and how they were apparently must-plays for any serious gamer interested in playing the classics. So far, I've not played Tactics (I hear it's very different from the other two), but I have played Fallout 1 + 2 and neither of them have disappointed. These games are a lot of fun, and I think their biggest appeal factor is the very dry but very funny strain of satire that runs through them all.

Cons: If you never played these games the first time around, then the controls can take some getting used to. The graphics are of course very basic by today's standards, though they are very artistically designed, with an aesthetic quality that's aged well. Though a lot of people talk about the openess and flexibility of the story, these games can actually be a little temperemental if you don't go through them in the right order. Also, the installation utility included on the disk seems very half-heartedly made, and even buggy at times. I have to extract the files for one of the games manually, because it brings up an error when I go to install the game.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend. If anybody's on the fence about this item, and has the slightest inkling that they might enjoy them, then I say go for it. At this price, it's worth it just to be able to say that you have played the original Fallout games.

4 out of 5 eggsA great buy, except one thing

Pros: This pack contains Fallout 1 and 2, very good game that will introduce new comers to the series' roots and will pull at veteran's nostaglia strings. Then there is Fallout tactics, which is one I haven't played yet, but I'm sure is just as good in it;s own right.

Cons: The is no ingame music. I looked all over the disk, but there are no music files to be found. Unless I'm mistaken.

Other Thoughts: Great games that bring back good memories. If only this disk came with music. It just seems like a silly error to me. Then again, like I said I could be mistaken.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent games from a bygone era in PC Gaming.

Pros: The classic games that spawned the Fallout franchise are back! Fallout 1 & 2 were ground breaking RPGs in their era for the amount of freedom given to the user to play the game, in a way that they wanted to play it.

Your character would shape what the game would become, whether it was a smooth talking sharpshooter, a kleptomaniac thief, or a muscled brute that was dumb as a box of rocks.

The graphics definitely look like something out of the late 90s pc era, but they have their own charm, and are able to set the atmosphere. The Music is also excellent, very fitting to the atmosphere, without being overbearing.

Fallout Tactics isn't a sequel to 1 or 2, but a strategy based spin off done by a separate company than the originals. It takes some liberties with the lore but is otherwise a fun addition to a great franchise.

If your first Fallout experience was with Fallout 3, I say give this pack a try (at least 1 & 2), you may like it!

Cons: Packaging is (purposely) deceptive, as this DOES NOT contain Fallout 3.

Keep in mind these games were made in the late 90s, so don't expect high resolutions, or 3d graphics.

The interface is also showing its age, and is a bit cumbersome to navigate quickly, and managing inventory isn't as intuitive as it could have been, also be sure to adjust the combat speed in the options otherwise it can be agonizingly slow

Other Thoughts: If you enjoyed Fallout 3 (as I did), give these games a try, I bought these games individually back when they were first released, and they are still playable to this day as long as you can get past the dated interface/graphics.

Pay no attention to others who insult you every step of the way because you weren't one of the few thousand people who played these games when they came out. Or that you might actually enjoy Fallout 3, and they just can't get over it, and move on with their lives.

This franchise is something everyone should be allowed to enjoy, no matter how old or new they are to it. This package if nothing else, can add a little back story to why things are the way they are in the Fallout Universe. So Enjoy!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fallout one and two are excellent RPGs. As a player new to these games after buying this pack I feel they have more than stood up to Bethesda's big budget sequel.

Cons: There's not official DLCs for these games :)

Other Thoughts: As someone introduced to Fallout by Bethesda's recent release, I am very surprised how well Fallout 1 and 2 have stood the test of time. Tactics is a real time tactical game with an emphasis on combat. The gameplay in Tactics is difficult, but rewarding when done right.

5 out of 5 eggsFallout Forever

Pros: An absolutely great set of the original Fallout games, updated to work on XP, Vista and I'm sure windows 7. These are classic games.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you liked Fallout 3 at all, you need to check these games out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Games, 2 different genres

Pros: You get three amazing games in this package. Two of the greatest games ever made (Fallout 1 & 2), and a great game of a completely different genre.
A great chance to relive the days when games were made for more than graphics to please the general population. Fallout 1 & 2 have amazing stories, open-ended game play that stays just structured enough to keep you focused and some great characters and humor.

Cons: Not exactly a con but as others have mentioned, this isn't exactly a trilogy. Fallout 1 & 2 are related RPG's but Fallout Tactics is a squad-based tactical combat game based on the world of Fallout 1 & 2.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RPG Series

Pros: These games are some of the best rpgs that you will find on PC. There's a deep story line for all three games, and great turn based gameplay for Fallout 1 & 2, and of course amazing tactical combat for Fallout tactics. I would highly recommend these games to any one of my friends or someone looking to purchase a pc game.

Cons: If you do not have the correct settings, then waiting for enemies, especially if there are more than 2 on screen, to take their turns during combat can make things go at a very sluggish pace. But within the settings menu you can speed up or even completely skip viewing the enemies combat turn, which really helps.

Other Thoughts: Its great to see all three of these games packed into one package, and for such a low price.
