4 out of 5 eggsNot bad, but looks dated.

Pros: Besides looking dated, it's a good, deep game.
If you can get it for $9.99 like I did, get it.

Cons: Dated graphics.

3 out of 5 eggsOk game

Pros: Good concept. Like the open world idea. Paid less than $10 for the game.

Cons: Just didn't do it for me, slow start and the story dragged in the intro. Didn't not run smooth for me on my pc. and was never interested enough to change settings so it would.

Other Thoughts: Was worth what i paid, and that wasn't much. Maybe i'll give it a second chance.

3 out of 5 eggsGood game spoilt by glitches

Pros: Story background and the world is pretty amazing

Cons: Multicore Processors will hang up the system easily unless a config file is edited to force to the game to use a restricted number of processor. (google and you will find out how)

DLC disc installs at a snails pace due to poor software design. Most people would have thought their system has hung up.

Both issues are gamestoppers that are extremely annoying.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good Game

Pros: Awesome graphics. Nice story of survival. Enjoyable

Cons: Can be boring after playing Battlefield war games. Had stability issues with Windows 7, 64-bit OS . Fix from this board seems to have addressed this issue.

Other Thoughts: Lesson learned: make sure future purchase of PC games are compatible with operating system and also to read user reviews before finalizing anything

4 out of 5 eggsSurprising amount of content

Pros: Huge amount of content - I'm over 120 hours and haven't yet cracked the DLC. The game environment is rich and varied. Graphics are decent, hardly cutting edge but good enough at 1920x1080 to not be jarring.

Cons: Buggy as hell. As delivered it's completely unplayable on a multicore Windows 7 machine, and there's squat for official support. But there is a knowledgeable fan base and I was easily able to find instructions to make the game not only playable, but fairly stable. There are still rocks that are transparent from certain angles and it's not uncommon to kill something and have it sink into the ground and disappear, but loot is so common that this is not a concern.

Other Thoughts: When I finally finish this, I'm going directly to Fallout New Vegas. Even with the bugs it's an incredible value, SOOOOO much content for the money (even though I had my wife buy it for me for Christmas 2010 and didn't play it until January 2012.)

5 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 fix for Fallout 3

Pros: Awesome game. Great Storyboard and graphics. yes there is a fix for Windows 7 x64, here it goes:

Open up the .ini file located in Documents>My Games>Fallout 3. *Do not alter the one in the actual game directory in Program files labeled Fallout_Default_ini*.

This file is where the save games etc are at. You might have to turn on show hidden folders or extensions, but it is 1 of the files as soon as you open my games- fallout 3.

Look In the FALLOUT.ini find the line

bUseThreadedAI=0
change the 0 to a 1

then below it add the line

iNumHWThreads=2

Cons: Not designed for Windows 7 but hey! there is a fix and it works

Other Thoughts: Yes, there is a fix for Windows 7 owners and it works! Try it!

3 out of 5 eggsNot supported on Windows 7

Pros: It's a compelling storyline with a bunch of side missions. Yes, that's indeed Liam Neeson narrating as my dad.

Cons: Not supported on Windows 7. Despite the game, O/S, and card being patched to the latest versions, I encounter some glitches on my Windows 7 box. These became much worse after upgrading to a new video card, though reinstalling the thereafter game lessened some of the pain. It's frustrating to zoom through my sniper scope, have the game hang, and then take down my entire operating system. My email reply from Bethesda support, a week later, simply confirmed the game was not supported on Windows 7.

The slow mo images of decapitations almost every time I finished an enemy with a head shot became quite tiring.

Other Thoughts: A five star game with 1 star technical issues yields 3 stars. I don't understand why it's so hard to build a game that doesn't take down your entire operating system when it fails. My experience here makes me reluctant to try Bethesda's other titles, like Rage, Elder Scrolls, or Oblivion...

1 out of 5 eggsFallout 3 game of year

Pros: great game for low class computers

Cons: gamer computers this game is a no go, freeze up every 5-10 minutes and there is nothing you can do with it. If you can turn your cpu down to two cores it will play a lot better or if the game had a way you could load with diectX 9 to be sure it would work better but if windows 7--64bit, over two cores this games is a no go.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Game

Pros: Epic gameplay and a very large free roam map with hundreds of interriors.

-Hundreds of hours of gameplay.
-Huge moding community for further gaming experience.
-Comes with all the DLC. Saves you $50 from microsoft store.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: There are thousands of very easy to install game mods that can add everything from better graphics to more quests and items.

I can use my Xbox 360 controller to play it.
