5 out of 5 eggsAuh-mazing game

Pros: This game was amazing, bought a bunch of upgrades on my computer and thanks to newegg, my machine is running great. had some extra cash bought this game and I must say i'm uncontrollably excited for the new skyrim online to come out around the first of the year... must have buy

Cons: (none)

Other Thoughts: I would recommend playing on ultra settings doesn't get much better than this!

5 out of 5 eggsHands down, amazing!

Pros: This game is epic. I mean words can not describe the vastness of this game. I've invested about 200 hours on the PS3 version and another 250 hours on the PC version (had to start over each time) and probably did not get half way through either play through of the main quest.

The modding community for this game is also top notch.

Cons: You can get lost in this game and it's extremely difficult to actually complete it unless you have A LOT of time on your hands. Combat mechanics can also be improved.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Performance and UX improvement over Oblivion using same hardware.

Cons: It's odd that I need Steam. The -1 egg is not because of Steam. I'm just not that impressed, but I'm enjoying the gameplay.

5 out of 5 eggs"You can all go to Hell, and I will go to Skyrim!"

Pros: The standard for open world RPG games. Great graphics, story and gameplay. If you want an in-depth review, read IGN or Gamespot online. For me, biggest pro is Steam Workshop and ability to load mods easily. I have played 21 hours so far, and feel I have barely scratched the surface.

Cons: Addicting, time sucking game. Typical dungeon can take an hour to go through, and there are over 150 of those.

Other Thoughts: I was amazed at how modding is integrated into the game. There are hundreds of mods to experiment with that can enhance game play greatly. The graphics in this game have blown me away, especially with the graphics that look so real at times. I'm running Windows 7 on i5 3570k, 8GB RAM, and ATI 7800 series graphics card, so I have the HP to push this game.

4 out of 5 eggsSkyrim Soars

Pros: I began playing this game about two weeks ago and really got sucked into it. Why? The gameplay, the graphics, the storylines, and the characters are so creatively done, I applaud the Software designers at Bethesda for giving us such a game.

First, you can create any character you would like, with any characteristics you want to give them. For my character, I chose the dominant Race, a Nord, and made him somewhat middle-aged, stocky, and with short hair (guess he looks like me). Once you're done with that, the game truly begins.

You appear in a wagon, in irons, rolling to your doom at the hands of a headsman. Of course that doesn't happen, and immediately your thrown into quick gameplay. Careful work here or your dead. In order to gain any weapons you have to loot dead bodies and/or chests. That's the only way. So make sure you loot everything possible, especially when going Dungeon Diving.

This game has so much to explore, and so many sub-quests you will probably lose track of them. But fear not, you can easily find them all in your Journal. There you can mark which one you want to follow at a particular time, and which ones can wait for later on. Some you can even do at the same time.

And since this is an open world game, you don't even need to follow the main quest or the sub-quests, you can go out on your own and explore. But if you do, and you come to an area that's involved in a quest - it may be blocked to you. That happened to me - I came across an Dwemer Ruin and the Doorway was blocked by heavy Vines. I tried to hack my way through them without any luck. It was no use. But, since I had discovered it, it was no marked on my MAP, and I could "Fast Travel" to it later on when it did appear in a sub-quest (and that's exactly what I did. And when I went back, the vines were gone and I could enter through the doors.

The graphics in this game are absolutely breathtaking - crisp and clear. You'll see lots of mountains, ice, snow, water, rushing water, waterfalls, rivers, and lots of NPCs. And the NPCs are not like the puffy characters in Oblivion - these are fully defined, drawn characters, so lifelike it's truly amazing.

Fighting with Magic is awesome, especially the graphics - each spell has its own type of graphics, some have swirls, others have lightening, and still others have balls of flames or fire that explode when they hit the enemy. I tell you, fighting with magic is sometimes more fun than fighting with swords or axes or arrows. Just Zap a Bear and you'll see what I mean.

Cons: The downside to the superb graphics is that my graphics card keeps hiccupping when it's set at the proper settings, which is ultra-high. I have an AMD Radeon HD 7970 3G high end graphics card that the game self-set itself to all ultra high settings. But when I began to play, some scenes just went haywire. I had to step it down to High Settings, and even then sometimes it would still burp.

Then when I added the High Definition DLC, the free one that Bethesda added last year, well that made things even worse. Now High Settings continually made the game's graphics go haywire. I had to step it down again to Medium Setting for Graphics. So now I'm missing out on all the High Definition Graphics that I used to have before I added the High Definition DLC package. Be aware of that before you add that to your Base Game!

This is why I took off an Egg.

Other Thoughts: This is one of the best games that I've ever played - well worth the money. You can, and will play this for hours on end and not discover everything or do everything possible. It's no wonder it won Game of the year - it should also have won Game of the Decade, that's how great this game is! - If you don't have it - buy it when it's on sale. you will not regret it, no you will never regret buying this game, unless it's because it takes up so much of your time that you don' t get other more important things done.

5 out of 5 eggsGame of the Decade

Pros: - Vast Open World
- Hundreds of hours worth of content.
- Great modding community; there are hundreds of 'bread & butter' mods and thousands of other mods which add endless amounts of additional content extending the game's relevance on to this day.

Cons: - Occasionally buggy, not that any game is bug free, but after many patches this no longer seems be an issue.

Other Thoughts: If you're a fan of open world RPG's you would be an idiot to not buy or have this game already if you have the means to do so.
