Shinji Mikami, the father of survival horror, is back to direct The Evil Within™ - a game embodying the meaning of pure survival horror. Highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story weave together to create an immersive world that will bring players to the height of tension. The Evil Within is in development for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC and is slated for release in 2014.

While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead.

Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel what's behind this evil force.

1 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: none whatsoever customer support or otherwise save your cash

Cons: took way to much out of my life to try and figure out then get hosed in the end

Other Thoughts: i'm not a big review guy, i do them when i really like or dislike something. in this case its the ladder. DO NOT BUY THIS unless you want to contribute to BETHESDAS carbon foot print and the wastefulness of materials!!

my internet is slows, i mean crawl i mean 340kbps, quarter of a floppy disk of info per second ON STEAM! so i like to buy HARD COPIES to install FROM MY PC so i do not have to wait 24 HOURS to D/L a game 40 gig game. You heard about that recent game (sept/oct 2015) that ONLY had the key in it?! WELL GOOD!! because the DVD's are U S E L E S S !!!

i intentionally (because i know the game) disconnect from the web, created a folder call Evil Within and proceeded to insert the first DVD. my tray opened, it fit perfectly LIKE IT WAS MADE FOR IT, and closed the tray. install, blah blah blah, agree, etc, and try to CHOOSE MY location I created on MY computer. Where do you think it went?! that's right STRAIGHT to the STEAM folder. so i cancel install, restart, connect to web and proceed to again, only this time with the option to uninstall the 40 or so megs that made it on in 20 minutes OFFLINE is there so i remove it. start the installation again and BANG opens STEAM, and begins to D/L the game THRU STEAM!! at 350KBPS! WHY DO I HAVE THE DVD's?!

I contact 1.844.ZENIMAX and after half hour of waiting I finally get someone. explain everything and he asks me to send a DXDIAG report to him, and i do. unreal! so they call me back and tell me my PC is fine, (I know it is i built it) and they don't know why it wont install. i bring up STEAM installing it at a snails pace and i complain about having to have an internet connection for a game. but MORE-SO a game they MADE DVD's for; F O U R dvd's for the game, 4 dvds which were molded, charged, had packaging created for it from more petroleum products, reimbursing sales people, sent via transport, unloaded with forklifts, stacked on shelves and racks only to be UNUSABLE!! how much G D SENSE does that make?! i cant wrap my head around it. the only conclusion my brain can come to is NOT TO BUY any more BETHESDA games.

now it was easy not to purchase EA games, EA is a joke and a half for SO many reasons, but DISHONORED 2 is coming out MAN, and I planed on buying it and paying full price, and I NEVER BUY ANYTHING NEAR FULL PRICE, and would have for that, but now can buy hitman and TR. glad there is still ubisoft, square enix and eidos to name a few. any collaboration with BETHESDA i wont buy it. and don't even get me started on the "leasing" aspects of EVERY game you PAID for but cant resell. like a car, or a PC, or a music CD (do they still make them), or clothes, or any other tangible thing you can buy and hold! but you cant resell your games?!

like EA before you BETHESDA is no longer purchased in this household, i wont throw away your (YOUR) games i leased will still play (less enjoymemt).

2 out of 5 eggsdisapointing ripoff

Pros: graphics are really good
has a creepy environment.

Cons: controls are not that great.
letter boxed gaming with a bad FOV.
not much of a story.

Other Thoughts: aiming in this game is way off, try and hit the target and the bullets go right threw. same with point blank shots.
when forcing the games FOV and aspect to a better view, it crashes a lot.

reminds me of RE4 with a cross of SH.

just another shooter. no puzzles and the story is flat. game gets really stupid when you get close to the end.

defiantly was nothing like what was shown @ E3
