When chaos reigns in the streets and casinos of Sin City, it's up to the international counter-terrorist unit known as Rainbow Six to take out the opposition. You play as Logan Keller, one of the team leaders of Rainbow Six as you follow terrorist ringleader Irena Morales from a dusty Mexican border town to glitz and glamour of Las Vegas.
Lead your squad as you fast-rope from helicopters, rappel from hi-rise roof tops and use night vision goggles and snake cameras to locate your enemies and extract hostages. Make full use of cover as the AI-controlled enemies will attempt to counter your tactics as you sweep through the casino floors in pursuit.
While normally playing in first-person perspective, the camera pulls out to show you the area while you take cover behind door jams and slot machines. Your AI-controlled comrades will follow your instructions and each room offers multiple points of entry allowing you to select effective tactics. In addition to solo play, up to four players can take part in the mission. Ten multi-player game modes include Survival, Assassination, Terrorist Hunt, Attack & Defend and Retrieval among others with up to 16 players. Sometimes, what happens Vegas shouldn't stay in Vegas.

Yeah You Have High Understanding
- Pros: This game is flat out fun, It Finally got me to stop Playing Oblivion every time I sat down at my PC. It looks really good.
- Cons: If you buy it here you may end up reading reviews by people with "high" understanding of this product, who are really haters and fanboys. High understanding to me would be in programming, and hardware, and I guess if you want to talk about the realism some exp with Special Forces. Thats quite impressive I guess I will bow to your "high" understanding.
- Other Thoughts: I have A E6600 6800GT SLi rig with 2GB of RAM and it runs good at Med. settings. I like it but I'm just a dumb senior technician for a network consulting firm, I don't have the "high" understanding.
Nicely Done
- Pros: Ubisoft did a great job with the game. The graphics are much more realistic, close to real compared to the last Rainbow Six game.
Rgt Mouse Button is used for cover which completely negates the old Q and E peek buttons, this is sweet!
E button allows you to access your inventory and select your nade, smoke, silencer, with a movement of the mouse; also sweet as hell!
The functions are easy and learned quickly.
- Cons: My only "con" is that I cant figure out how to show damage to my character. I don't see any bars, so when my character dies, is irritating. However, in defense of Ubisoft, I will say that not knowing how much damage your character has sustained makes you more cautious in the game play.
- Other Thoughts: I will say that I have read a few negative reviews, which I disagree with, however, on the idea of internet play I cannot comment since I haven't accessed that portioned of the game.
This is not at all like the previous games where you could get away with running around and killing people like in Doom or Unreal Tournament, but it's more strategic and cooperative oriented.

Decent
- Pros: - One of the first games to use Unreal 3 Engine
- Nice weapons - Nice maps - Supposedly the casinos are real cool
- Cons: - The AI isn't very good
- The character's faces are so bad it's not even funny. They look like bricks. - Controls are kind of quirky - Game feels like a chore - If you get shot like 4 times, you die (too easy to die) - Not too many people are playing online multiplayer (because they are all playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2 multiplayer) - Huge downside for me was that I couldn't assign actions to the side buttons on my mouse, as well as my scroll wheel (you can't wheel through your weapon loadout).
- Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend buying this game. I gave it three stars because it was probably a good game when it came out. It's just too outdated.
Take my advice and go buy Rainbow Six Vegas 2 instead, which is way better in every aspect (graphics, controls, singleplayer, multiplayer). Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a real video game.
Awesome Tactical FPS
- Pros: Lots of weapons and customization. Good single player mode with some cool squad based commands. Great co-op modes; terrorist hunt is fun. It has tactical, duck and cover style gameplay; not a run and gunner. Supports the Xbox 360 controller. Very Cheap price. Bought multiple copies for LAN play.
- Cons: Graphics can be better, see other thoughts. Controls can be frustrating sometimes, it is a challenging game. Use a Xbox 360 controller for best results. Egg saver is slow to deliver.
- Other Thoughts: With some tweaking, this runs at max settings 1080p, 16xQ AA, 16xAF, Abient Occulsion, with SLI GTX 260's at around 50-60 fps. It looks and plays excellent for being an older game.
(1)RSV initially does not support 1920X1080, so get the latest update to fix that. If you have a resolution greater than 1080p, google "guru3d rainbow six vegas widescreen patch" The dl has multiple config files for many resolutions. (2) This game does not support AA and HDR. To fix this, download nHancer (for nvidia users). Run the program, and select Tom Clancy's RSV. Go to the Compatibility tab and select Anti-Aliasing Compatibility. Select "00000045: AA & HDR". Then pick any AA, AF, or ambient occulsion(use 00000010: UT3) you want in the Enhancements tab. (3) For SLI users, select sli mode "alternate frame rendering 2", which is to be used with all Unreal engine games. This resulted in much smoother gameplay. Newegg is the best!!
Fun game
- Pros: Cheap price
Fun to play Realistic weapons
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: Got this game on a Thursday Sales Flyer from Newegg for 7.99, b/c the free game that came with my video card was getting stale and I needed a change. This game did the job.
I'll probably get the other version of this game sooner or later but for now - I'll enjoy this game.
I haven't played online yet - just offline.
