Tom Clancy's elite counterterrorism squad is back in Sin City in Rainbow 6 Las Vegas 2. You take on the role of Bishop, a veteran member of Rainbow and you can customize his appearance. Take on the challenges – set before and after the events in Rainbow 6 Vegas – solo or in co-op play. Experience points are earned in all game modes, whether online or offline. You or a friend can jump in or out at any time – without affecting the storyline.
Go beyond the neon glow of Vegas at night with real time day/night cycles and missions that take you into the seedier side of Vegas in the scorching sun, the Nevada desert at sundown and around the world. The environments are sharply rendered and destructible. Soft cover can be penetrated by weapons fire, so be careful where you take cover. The game adapts to your style with "Advanced Combat Enhancement and Specialization" or ACES which tracks your kills and unlocks weapons that best fit your combat style, whether marksman, assault or close-quarter combatant.
Take the fight online with additional maps and 2 new game modes including "Attack and Defend." Three difficulty levels, plus improved online matchmaking and ranking make it easier to locate and join online games already underway - putting you in the thick of the action.

Sharp departure from classic Clancy games
- Pros: Much better multiplayer capabilities than Vegas 1. Team AI is a little better though still requires hand holding by your main character. Decent maps on campaign mode (though inconsistent in that some areas look rich in detail yet some backgrounds are something straight out of a kindergarten paint shop). The game allows for some tactics in campaign mode but flies out the window on terrorist hunt modes.
- Cons: Story is something left to be desired for campaign mode. Terrible and awful dialogue and writing. Inconsistencies with weapon damage (unless you can do headshots everytime, terrorists can die from a few shots to a whole clip to the chest and its not based on what armor they wear). Game feels more cinematic and arcade feel that classic Clancy games in the past and its probably to cater to the zerg rush and shoot generation of gamers. Awful, awful terrorist spawn mechanic for Terrorist Hunts. They are triggered through invisible trip wires so you may clear a room and walk out but wheel around and suddenly you may come face to face with another room full of them. This was apparently corrected in a recent patch but the same mechanic is still in place which means its hard to snipe (unless you have teammates who can run ahead and trigger their spawn points). The campaign mode is also very, very short.
- Other Thoughts: The game is okay and makes passable entertainment for shooters. The story as I mentioned before was not up to snuff (Vegas 1 wasn't great either but vegas 2 realy lowers it a notch). Apparently one of your "students" of the game blows a gasket and has been whining about you over an incident in the past. How he ever became nominated as a Rainbow was never answered not explored but since the game doesn't bother at all fleshing out who the players are in this story it doesn't matter I guess.
TOM.. DO SOMETHING!!
- Pros: classic tom clancy gameplay now with a bonus rpg feel. you can get experience points to buy stuff........thats about it.
- Cons: NO PRE-MISSION PLANNING!! WHY!!
the graphics totaly suck. it was a pretty big downer to wait for this game to come out to pc and see that all graphics were dumbed down to overpricedstation 3 and xbox360 standards.
- Other Thoughts: new interactive scenery style is so much more natural then GOW. you press and hold the right mouse button to hug walls and doors. 5 different ways to open or breach a door. rappel anywhere. all I can say is that GOW felt like it took 10 hours of gameplay to understand and master. TCR6V2 took about 30 seconds to understand and 1 min to master.
