DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
Pros: It has the game mechanics of Painkiller? It was only $20. When it doesn't crash or glitch its fun to play.
Cons: This game is overrun with problems! It crashes ALL the time making the game unplayable. Everytime I quick save, load the next chapter, or load specific save points the game crashes. The demon mode (when you collect 66 souls) is majorly glitched. The screen glitches, warps, and mirrors itself making it impossible to navigate or shoot anything. There is NO COOP. The forums have tons of complaints and the developers HAVE NOT replied to anyone since the games release. The cinematic cut scenes have been dummed down to "novel style cut scenes!" rather than top notch cinematic sequences experiences in Painkiller 1 & 2. The voice acting is terrible and wild bill sounds like a constipated man with nasal problems. Enemies spawn behind you and sometimes get glitched in terrain. The levels themselves are built terribly leaving you the ability to gain access to unfinished areas of the map.
Other Thoughts: If they ever fix the game it's worth the $20 but if they don't then shy away from this!

Pretty good, but...
Pros: You can expect the usual great fun of body parts flying everywhere. Previous PK fans will feel right at home. The "insomnia" level seems to be slightly harder than in the older PK's--that's fine with me. "Level" doors don't always slam shut behind you, so making a break back into another room is nice.
Cons: At the moment, it's got a couple bugs...could just be trying to run it Win7x64, but it will CTD once in awhile--usually if you're trying to quicksave via F5, while killing something--doing too much at once. I'm sure an update will be forthcoming. New levels can load really slow the first time, or after turning the machine on, and I do mean slow (but not after you get killed, etc--they reload fast enough for most folks). Some things, such as stained glass windows don't seem to have the same rich detail found in older PK's. Some areas can trap you, leaving you no choice but to hit F9 to restart the level...those glitches should have been caught long before the game went out the door. I got trapped 3 times in the 1st level while exploring, and was unable to "bump" myself out of the situation. Save often, and avoid cracks and crevices.
Other Thoughts: Once installed and you go to play, you'll see a notice on top of the screen saying "an update is available". Just so you don't pull your hair out, exit the game, go into Dreamcatchers main folder, look for and open the "bin" folder within...You'll find "ResurrectionUpdater.exe". Run it. If it says "Start Update" then you're probably ok with your AV, etc. If you run it and it just flashes by, it's not going in right, and to check the AV/FW. Having an updater means no more looking for patches, etc. It has about half the levels of the others with 10, but they're bigger. Just because the Red end of level marker appears, doesn't mean everything is dead--you might walk back through making sure you got everything and suddenly find you're no longer alone. Once installed, I found the game plays fine without the disk--you might as well put it away so it doesn't get scratched. Can't go wrong for the price.
