Decent Game
- Pros: Graphics are amazing, the storyline is alright. Lots of customization. Neat Items and mounts.
- Cons: Ran a little choppy, but thats my CPU and GPU. Also..there is a lack of gameplay after level 50 or so...gets kinda boring and grinding for 20 levels or so isn't fun. I'm not sure if they changed this for the better or not because I haven't played in 2 months. From what I understood from then they weren't going to do anything about it.
- Other Thoughts: Id buy it again, but only if Funcom would implement more quests/instances.
Great game
- Pros: The graphics in this game are outstanding, and the gameplay is pretty fantastic. Storylines are interesting and sometimes cross between character classes.
The attack Combos are an interesting twist to what we would expect from mmorpgs today. It certainly makes this game a real challenge to master.
The FATALITIES are absolutely awesome. I giggle like a little girl, every time I plow someone to the ground and drive my sword through their eye socket. There are a lot of heads that get chopped off as well.
There is definitely a mature theme surrounding the game; ranging from scantly clad women, language, to content.
- Cons: Other reviews regarding this game are way outdated.
This game still requires a large amount of resources to play. Sieges can be quite harsh on an average system; especially when you have 80 people out on the field.
The game still doesn't have some of what was promoted before it's release...such as good mounted combat.
- Other Thoughts: This game has taken a who 180 degree turn around for ballance and playability since launch. Like many MMOs today, there is always a constant balancing issue for pvp. This is an exceptional challenge with AoC's combo system.
Content is added occasionally, and major improvements to crafting and gathering have been made as well.
Direct X 10 is now supported.
I could say more, but it would be more than I feel like typing atm. I give this game 3 eggs due to the system requirements and the constant balancing that should have been made upon release. There are still issues that make the game imperfect (as with almost all mmos today), and it follows the same type of structure that we see in all MMOs today as well. Gone are the days of a seemless world like Asheron's Call.
Nice Graphics, Dumb Game
- Pros: Good Graphics
- Cons: I definitely have the 'firepower' to play this game, but I just didn't like it all that much. Got 8 gig ram, 1 gig video, vista 64 bit, 24" monitor, etc. Probably due to being used to much easier keyboard layout and movement of WoW. I played this game for a bit, but wasn't that fun. I bought the game because I wanted to play a game that doesn't have the cartoony graphics that WoW has, but the gameplay wasn't there. Just like a lot of games these days. A lot of games are all graphic and no game. I still miss the Nintendo days I guess where is was all game and hardly any graphic.
