1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: None that I can think of.

Cons: Settings are scattered all over the place in a non intuitive way. I couldn't get it to work with Windows XP (and yes some of my clients still have legacy apps on XP). Only runs in "batch" mode. Your jobs can just disappear into la la land and you have no idea why they are not running. Nothing works in a crisp interactive mode, all jobs get submitted to a queue, and many just rot there and do nothing. Backup logs are stored in a confusing way and are hard to access.

Other Thoughts: Spent a week trying to set up a simple backup to a removable cartridge drive. 1st problem was the software would not see the backup drive in XP. Moving the backup to a Win 7 machine didn't help much. I wanted to overwrite the old backup every time. I found the option to overwrite in the other settings area, but every time I opened up the backup settings for my job, it had magically set itself back to a different backup type (incremental). When trying to test the backup, any job I submitted just rotted in the queue even when I set it to run right away so I could never properly verify the backup was working.
I can't say I've ever used software that breaks more common sense usability rules than this one does. Gives me a headache just thinking about it. I've moved on and will never touch this software again.

Pros: None

Cons: Garbage - great looking interface but ludicrously slow backups, even the differentials. Avoid this software like the plague.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the headache

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: I had searched a lot of companies for a very long time, trying to find one that I could be SURE would do the job. After talking to this company directly, they convinced me they were "it". On the first failure I had, the "start up disk" that was made would not boot up, and then wouldn't run when I used another system to boot up on, so the whole thing was worthless. I also had the same issue as the other remark that after 2 installs it's like pulling teeth to get a key back. They need to understand that when I purchase their software, it's MINE, not theirs.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Recommended

Pros: The only backup product that I have purchased that makes reliable, segmented DVD-BR backups without a hitch.

Cons: NTI needs to ease-up on their software entitlement policy. After you install the software twice, you receive a message stating that you have installed the software the maximum number of times.
This is a backup and restore product, right?
Give me a break.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Away!

Pros: The box can be recycled.

Cons: My Experience : I purchased this product because it was advertised as Win2k compatible and I needed a backup solution for an older machine. However the build they shipped me has a known incompatibility per their tech support. They linked me to an older build to install, during the install it blue screened and forced me to reboot my machine. Subsequent restarts all ended in blue screens and after an hour with their senior tech support we resolved this server installation was totally botched. This led to more than a day of downtime and an angry customer.

USA Tech Support : Sounds good but they only answer the phone 2 out of every 5 times you call. They also refer you to emailing for certain menu items, so really what's the point.

Other Thoughts: The product also comes bundled with some junk label making software and some other gimmickware that should have been a dead give away this would not be legit.

I ended up finding a new old stock copy of Backup Exec 9.1 and haven't looked back.
