Features
Dynamic Resize Cloning
With a single click of the mouse Echo will clone your entire hard drive (i.e. Operating System, Programs, Data, Partitions, etc.) to another drive. Dynamic Resize cloning method uses Echo' smart cloning technology and will automatically resize the original drive's partitions to fit onto a smaller or larger replacement drive. This is the default and recommended cloning method.

Filter Cloning
Echo's filter cloning feature allows users to exclude certain files from the cloning process. Echo will make a clone of your drive and at the same time exclude the files you have selected from being part of the newly cloned drive. An ideal solution for when the target drive is too small for all of the source drive's data.

Partition Cloning
Echo also allows for partition only cloning for users that need more flexibility. This allows users to quickly clone a single partition on one drive to another drive. Perfect for cloning just the Operating System partition on a user's computer hard drive to a new smaller solid state drive.

One-to-One Cloning
One to One Cloning option will retain the original hard drive's partition structure and size when cloning to a replacement drive. With this cloning method if the new drive is larger than the original drive the unused space on the new drive will be left unallocated as shown in the screen shot.

User Defined Cloning
The User Defined option will allow the user to adjust the size of the partitions on the new drive. This cloning method allows the user to customize the replacement drive by increasing or decreasing the partition sizes to fit their free space requirements.

Smart Cloning Technology
Dynamic Resize cloning method uses Echo' smart cloning technology and will automatically resize (shrink or grow) the original drive's partitions to fit onto a smaller or larger replacement drive.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed cloning

Pros: Clone bigger hard drive to smaller SSD hard drive

Cons: Failed cloning!

Other Thoughts: I was using NTI Echo to clone my old bigger hard drive to my new and smaller SSD, and it restarted to start but it failed to boot up and said -
Error: Driver 'pata_platform' is already registered, aborting. . .
NTI Echo is Starting . . .
I waisted much day time, then left for night again to clone, nothing happened after 12 ours.
But, I was my second CD with NTI Echo 3.
I used one many times to clone till licence expired.
So, I ordered new one, and I bought a NEW Dell Precision T3600 Workstation with Win 7-64 system, at the same time and thought to clone that hard drive to a SSD.
I called to a Customer Support, the guy there was polite but helpless.
Then I just used Acronis 2013 Home Plus on the SAME NEW Dell Precision T3600 Workstation and that worked!

And for a long time I used FREEWARE version of EaseUS Partition Master on other PS's but that clone to smaller size H.D's or SSD's.
I wish to get my money back!

1 out of 5 eggsHorible Software Beware!

Pros: None. I found FREEWARE version of EaseUS Partition Master that did everything that NTi Echo 3 was SUPPOSED to do. The Home version is FREE.

Cons: NTi Echo 3 modifies the MBR so that Win7 will boot into a version of Linux running off the DVD that the program comes on. The issue here is that my multi-boot system would NEVER boot after NTi Echo 3 modified the Boot record of Win 7. Leaving me with a unbootable Win7 install. After a lengthy trial and error process I was able to get Win7 to boot after I repaired it. NTi Echo 3 was never able to work. Period! I did a Google search for any drive / partition cloning software and found EaseUS Partition Master Home version. It is FREE and it worked as advertised.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this product. In fact it is soo horrible I am going to demand my money back. I bought this software with the explicit intention of moving from a smaller SSD drive to a larger SSD for my Windows 7 install. Instead I went on a 6 hour deep dive into NTi Echo 3 and Windows 7 just to UNBREAK my boot record to get back to where I started. DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT.

2 out of 5 eggsCaution

Pros: Nice color on CD box.

Cons: Does not work on my ASUS Win 7-64 system. Might work if I turned off Security systems. Not!

Other Thoughts: Got this from their tech support that responded quickly. " As I said before, when you tell Echo to start it makes both your normal boot and target drives bootable into the Linux based cloning function. If something prevents Echo from changing the boot code on your normal boot drive you will boot back into Windows and Echo will clean itself up. This is what is happening, you are not booting in to Linux from your normal boot drive. In this case, you need to go to the BOIS boot menu (usually this is done by pressing the F12 key on your keyboard, but your BIOS will tell you which key you need to press for the boot menu) and then you need to select your target drive to boot into the cloning function. This only happens on systems that actively prevent the boot code from being updated either form a BIOS setting or from the actions of a security program." So this program needs to mess with your MBR's to function correctly. I used the software (Acronis) that came with my Segate hard drive and it cloned perfectly on slightly different sized drives and it adjusted the sizes just fine. This one goes into the trash.

4 out of 5 eggsFor standard MBRs only

Pros: Easy to use and set up.

Cons: Went disasterously wrong with a non-standard MBR/software encrypted hdd. Fortunately helpdest was able to recover my encryption keys. I should have known better but I'm taking an egg for not warning me.

Other Thoughts: It messes with the MBR and windows boot files to do the cloning. This is all well and good when you have a standard MBR, but if you have a dual-boot and/or especially an encrypted HDD, it's liable to hang unrecoverably.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Easy

Pros: Simple to use and menu driven with dropdowns. Beats anything I have ever used (and I've used quite a few). Copied my Win7 64bit from an older 80 GB SSD to a newer 240 GB SSD and it resized the partion to match the new drive. Worked fast (about 7 min) and flawlessly. Swapped out the drives and I was back up running with the new drive in no time.

Cons: Hate mail in rebates.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend this to anyone. Hope it works with Win8!

5 out of 5 eggsSimple and Effective

Pros: simple enough that the tech-impaired can use it, works fast and effectively.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This software actually came bundled with some Plextor SSD's that I installed for a client, so I did not purchase separately but wanted to leave a review.

Unlike some software, if you are cloning to a larger drive this automatically adapts the partition to the larger size. It basically took three clicks and on reboot cloned the drive perfectly, swap the drive and you are good to go.

I used this to clone traditional hard drives on 5 different systems to new SSD's, and it worked perfectly every time.

The interface is so simple anybody can figure it out.
