University and College Students
--Students enrolled at a higher education institution defined as an accredited public or private university or college (including community, junior, or vocational college) that grants degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two years of full-time study.1
Required Proof of Eligibility:
In order to install the Autodesk Student Edition software, you (or the person you are buying the product for) must first obtain a serial number by submitting proof of eligibility to Autodesk according to the instructions included with the product. The following is needed to provide evidence of eligibility:
Post-Secondary Students Only:
Proof of current enrollment, stating your name, the institution name, and the current date or term.2 "Current" is defined as a date within the last 6 months.
Types of proof of enrollment include:
A unique valid email address associated with an educational entity (i.e., firstname.lastname@example.org). If you opt to use this method, the serial number will be sent to the email address you provide. This is the fastest method for receiving your serial number.
A school photo identification card that includes school name, your name, a photo and a current enrollment date. "Current is defined as a date with the last 6 months.
If you do not have such an ID, you must instead provide a photo identification card, driver's license, passport or other official photo identification.
AND one of the following:
Official, current non-photo student ID with name and current enrollment date.
Official, current school transcript indicating name of school and student with current date.
Official, current school tuition bill indicating name of school and student with current date.
Official, current report card indicating name of school and student with current date.
Autodesk reserves the right to modify acceptable proof of eligibility through the course of this Agreement.
Unqualified institutions include:
Non-accredited schools and religious organizations
Prekindergarten or child care facilities
Hospitals in Canada
Training centers or schools granting certificates for courses such as computer software training, including, without limitation: Ziff Davis University, Learning Tree University, New Horizon Computer Learning Center, Teacher Training Centers
Military schools that do not grant academic degrees
Research laboratories not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Canadian/Provincial Ministries of Education, for example, institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Defense or Energy or the National Research Council Canada. In addition, laboratories in the U.S. defined as Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) and University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) are not eligible. Examples include: Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Note on validation:
It may take up to three business days to receive confirmation of your proof of eligibility and your serial number from Autodesk. You may install your product in trial mode while awaiting receipt of your serial number from Autodesk. You may use the product for up to 30 days in trial mode.
Restrictions on use:
Individuals may purchase only one license of any Autodesk Student Edition. This license may be used only on privately owned computers. Autodesk Student products may not be resold.
Accredited schools are those that are approved by an association recognized by the U.S. Department of Education/State Board of Education or the Canadian/Provincial Ministries of Education and that teach students as their primary focus. In the U.S., such associations include: Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Northwest Association of Accredited Schools.
Documents dated within the last six months are considered current.
