3 out of 5 eggsAccurate, Affordable Language Recognition Software

Pros: - Very Accurate Language Recognition
- Speech to Text works well
- Good Integration with Microsoft Office Products
- Works well with Windows 7 or 8
- Customer Support is good if you have a question.

Cons: - No Windows 10 Support
- Cheap & Flimsy Headset

Other Thoughts: I purchased this product when it was on rebate and I got a fantastic deal. This software is very accurate for doing voice searches and speech to text. I really like how well it integrates with Microsoft Office and I can definitely see it coming in handy for those in the legal field. However, I had to take a star off for the poorly made headset they gave in the box. It is pretty much useless and you will definitely need to buy a quality one yourself if you value comfort. Also, I took another star off for the lack of Windows 10 support. I assume Nuance is going to force everyone to upgrade to version 13 and pay in order to work on Windows 10.

1 out of 5 eggsNot supported with Win 10

Pros: Good program when used with Windows 7

Cons: Beware: Problem opening profiles after you upgrade to Windows 10. Nunace Support is saying they don't support release 12 under Windows 10. Program is useless if you plan on upgrading to Win 10.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth the investment

Pros: I recently seen Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12 on sale. I have been using an older version of the software Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 standard edition. For the past several years. I used this software on a daily basis for social networking sites as Facebook, Twitter, blogging and multiplayer gaming. One of the things I have noticed by using a more recent version of the software. Is that the accuracy has been improved greatly without any form of voice training. This speed has also improved. Even though I already had version 10 upgrading to version 12 was a good decision. I honestly use this software on a daily basis. Whether it's searching the web or whatever. Well worth the investment and one last thing. This entire article was written using the software a few corrections had to be made. But as you can tell works great once you get the hang of it :)

Cons: The software requires tutorials and voice training to improve accuracy. You must always talk in a clear voice for the software to detect your voice properly. Which can cause a sore throat at times. And the occasionally not detecting your words properly.

Other Thoughts: Good investment if you love to talk and too lazy to type.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat software

Pros: Great software. This version is the best yet.

Easy to use, and I rarely have to make any corrections. This is my second copy as I liked it so much on my home computer I bought it for my work computer.

Included headphone is decent quality, and comfortable for my head. Microphone works well even with moderate background noise

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: I really need to use this more. I tend forget I have it installed and don't use it nearly as much as I should. As a matter of fact I wrote this review using the software.

4 out of 5 eggsDragon naturally speaking number 12 review

Pros: for me personally I've purchased several successions from number 10 to number 12, of Dragon naturally speaking in various forms. At this time I am using the premium edition to write this review. As much information as I need to share and decipher and with my lack of skills In typing this software for the most part has been a love-hate relationship from the beginning. Actually and in reality I can find more "cons" dealing with the program than any positive notations.Unfortunately I can't do without it, the observations of a long learning curve are correct though as time goes by you finally learn those idiosyncrasies of the program. I personally consistently practice reading magazine/Newspaper articles using Microsoft Word and storing them in folders for better accuracy and results. It is a fairly complex program, steep learning curve indeed if you intend to learn all of its attributes. Remember the saying when you first got into computers "garbage in, garbage out!" This is definitely the epitome of that saying.actually

Cons: here's a list of them that I'm willing to deal with!
1. This program will never be absolutely correct dealing with words that sound the same. An example the man's name Jerry and the woman's name Jeri.
2 definitely don't expect a tremendous amount of help from Nuance itself. Find the companies personal lack of help rather appalling.
3 Nuance is constantly upgrading, and towards the end of its useful life of the program certain issues and conflicts seem to bugger up the program so it no longer works correctly. As an example in the past certain upgrades to Adobe products have corrupted quite vigorously this program. I always take notes immediately after an upgrade of absolutely anything that I do,, to make sure this program is still working.

Other Thoughts: as I've said if I could type like a bandit I probably would think twice about this program and its need in my life.. But I definitely cannot deal very well without it on my PC. Times it's been hilariously enjoyable dealing with my thoughts and publish them on paper,, then there are days where I think nuance and Dragon Naturally Speaking is the demon of all software companies!

4 out of 5 eggsDNS 12

Pros: must have if you do a lot of dictatio

Cons: steep learning curve

Other Thoughts: Nuance seems to have a monopoly on the speech recognition market, but it is a very good product, somewhat bulky, the learning curve is somewhat steep, but once you've mastered that, it is a very handy programs own. I use it every day dictating emails and other text tasks. new answers very slow about remitting rebates, I am waiting for one now that is 30 days overdue.

1 out of 5 eggsRip-off rebate

Pros: None.

Cons: This was a Christmas present. Most rebates allow 30 days to file but this one is 7 days. The recipient did not return from the Holiday break until Jan 6 and did not try to install it until a couple of days later. The conditions of this rebate are like a trick test.

Other Thoughts: I hate the fact that manufacturers try to make getting a rebate as onerous as possible. This is certainly not a positive marketing tool! I feel ripped-off and will be disinclined to buy any Nuance products in the future.

They reserve 8 to 10 weeks to send you the rebate when all they have to do is process a batch after they have the buyer's data. Seems really lopsided!

4 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Good at capturing exactly what you say. Actually not a bad speaking training tool as it catches "uhs" or any other little habits you have.

Cons: seems to react slowly to speech, disconcerting to watch while speaking, as the lag in typed words showing up will distract you. Better to just finish talking and then look at text.
