One of the Best RTS's every made!
- Pros: Different than most RTS's. The scale of the game and maps are immense, and the control and queue system are excellent. Because of the way the game is designed, the sheer scale of the maps adds to the playing experience, instead of becoming tedious. Resources and your "economy" are extremely simple to use, but still quite fun.
Advancing from one tech level to the next is brilliant. Instead of just "Upgrading" your tech level, you can build things from any tech level once you have the right unit, it is just way more expensive. So you CAN start building end game structures just a couple of minutes into the game, but it will cripple your economy if you do.
Another thing that this game does very will is the single player campain. Each mission starts you out on a fairly small (by this game's standards) map with one or two objectives. Once you finish them, you are given more objectives, and the map size doubles. This usually happens twice per mission.
The game also has a great story.
- Cons: Steep learning curve. While people famialiar with RTS's will figure out how to play fairly quickly, the finer points of the game take hours to figure out, and some of the controls (especially regarding unit command queues) are not explained anywhere in the manual.
Only six missions per faction in the campaign. (However, each mission is practically three missions, often taking a couple hours per mission.)
Other than these, the game is amazing.
- Other Thoughts: One other thing, your computer really has to be a beast to run this game. The specs listed as "recommended" are (imo) the minimum you can play the game with. With 1GB of ram the game is playable, but will lag a LOT near the end of some missions. I Recommend at least 2GB.
Personally, I feel that this game is the first real RTS. Everything before it, is really more like an RTT (Real time Tactics). This is the first RTS where you really are thinking at such a scale that strategy is coming into play.
I highly recommend this game.
A must have RTS
- Pros: Visually amazing on full graphics. Battles are Largre, intence, strategic. Dual monitor support!!!. Land, air, and sea units. the controls are intuitive and create the feeling that you can really manage massive armies. lastly, you are the commander in the battle. as hardcore as your unit is... its kill or be killed to end the game. did i mention Dual monitor support!!. who needs a mini map?
- Cons: to get full visual settings you need a beastly computer. I havent played on a Sli computer yet. however, one 7950GT seems to do the trick.
the scope of the game can be overwhelming. this game is not for the rts, faint of heart.
- Other Thoughts: I liked TA. this game has a similar feel, but its no carbon copy. my computer had a 6600GT when i got the game, the graphics needed to be turned down to play and it was kinda choppy. WHith the purchace of a 7600GT, the graphics are alot nicer, but still on medium settings. Roomate has the 7950GT, graphics on Full.

Good game
- Pros: -RTS - if you like them, it's pretty good
-Zoom in/out is great - you get a close up look or view of the entire map -Special units are fun to use
- Cons: -It seemed to be more of a 'pump out lots of troops to overwhelm your enemy' sort of game.
-Too much repetition in the missions - Each faction's campaigns take place in the same area with similar objectives
- Other Thoughts: It's a lot like Total Annihilation (if you've played it)
BEST RTS EVER!
- Pros: At first, I was skeptical at buying this game because I never got into RTS games too much, but I wanted something other than an FPS to play.
This game blew me away! It's like Starcraft and C&C on steroids and crack! massive battles and amazing level of detail really bring this game to life. The introduction of an economy in a game is an awesome way to play the game. I cant say enough good about this game!
- Cons: absolutely none! this game renewed my interest in RTS games! I cant get enough of it!
- Other Thoughts: Aside from the high requirements to play it, it's an amazing game. I'm play on all max setting on my P7811FX and I'm not lagging at all.
Good Game
- Pros: Price is very reasonable. Free shipping is a plus. If you like command and conquer you will love this game. If you have lots of time on your hands this is definetly the game for you.
- Cons: Missions are a bit hard and time consuming . Missions takes hours.
