- Pros: played Russian version for a week. If you liked gameplay of the previous version - you'll definately like this one. Game became more difficult in a lot of aspects. You have to watch where you go, you'll get killed much faster in combats and artefacts are real hard to find. You now can (and will have to) upgrade weapons and armor, - you run out of money pretty fast though. You now may chose fraction to fight for etc.
- Cons: Main issue and the reason for 4 out of 5 is that game (at least russian version) is not stable and throws you out to Windows every 30-40 min. They came up with patch immidiately after release, it helps but problem still exists. Hope they'll fix it for American version. They only added couple new maps. No new monsters. No new weapons or armor.
NEW EGG RULES
- Pros: new egg is the best. i preordered this game in may, it is scheduled to be released on spe 5th and i just received my copy today!! new egg is the only site. i even bought George Foreman Grill here :D
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: new egg rulez

This game does work on windows 7
- Pros: The game works fine on windows 7. The latest patch disables its copy protection entirely. If you go Tages website, and download the latest version of Tages, the unpatched stalker will work fine, activation, disk protection and all.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: don't be an idiot. check for updates.
I wish I could play/ Avoid if you have Win7.
- Pros: I wish I knew.
- Cons: The copyright protection of the disk version of the game is incompatible with Windows 7 beta, and I have not been able to play it. I contacted Deep Silver's customer support about 3 business days ago and have not heard a response. I downloaded new drivers for the copyright protection software, but they did not work. I feel swindled by Deep Silver.
- Other Thoughts: I regret purchasing this game, but it is not newegg's fault. I will now be wary of developers that I have never heard of before.
Great RPG
- Pros: First off I love this game due to its graphics and its detail into everything, also the ballistics for the guns
- Cons: There are a few bad spots in the game where if you talk to a certain characters too much your saves will become corrupt
- Other Thoughts: All through out it is a very fun game i love it because its something different and the graphics are more real life based than arcadey
