5 out of 5 eggsWho Cares

Pros: I bought this game for pocket change. I booted it for 5 minutes and loved the graphics and fighting mechanics. That's a 5 egger in my book.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have very low understanding of anything.

Look, this game cost me nothing. I havn't really played it at all but I can already tell for the price its a 5 egg game.

Buy it

3 out of 5 eggsGood price for 2 games

Pros: Good story line and game mechanics. $4 for 2 games with free shipping is a steal.

Cons: DRM sucks, but no work around. Mouse sensitivity setting was a pain to get right. Took me awhile to get the settings close to how I want it and even then it felt sluggish. Game pad recommended.

Other Thoughts: Good game, nice price.

1 out of 5 eggsdrm ruins the game. LOTS of hassle to get started.

Pros: great game, but get it on another platform. see cons

Cons: the drm is almost as bad as ubisoft's constant on internet connection requirement. you only get 3 installs, plus it installs tages. this is a rootkit almost as bad as sony's from the past. avoid this at all costs, get it on the console. excellent game, but trust me you do not want to deal with this drm.

Other Thoughts: why does drm like this exist. if you look around, the pirates can play the game easy, while the legit folks like myself have to search the internet to see what kind of drm pc games have. tages is very, very bad news.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal on a good game

Pros: First off, it was $3.99 delivered to my door.
Comes with 2 games: Escape from Butcher Bay (2004) and Assault on Athena (2009)
Only played Butcher Bay so far and thought the graphics to be pretty good for something 6 years old. Gameplay was entertaining having to climb and sneak around.
Enjoyed the gameplay

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Best game deal I have bought in a long time. You don't have this much fun for $4 very often.

4 out of 5 eggsFor $4, you're gonna complain?

Pros: Two games for the price of less than one - I don't think you can even get it from Steam for this sort of price
For this insane price you actually have physical media
Original Butcher's Bay sequence 'remastered' to updated engine
Real Diesel voiceover

Cons: The DRM is kind of annoying, especially as it isn't x64 compatible out of the box and gives failure notices when you try to run the first time (see below)
Surprisingly slow install, even for two games.
Supposedly 3 install limit (see below)

Other Thoughts: The included DRM which only allows you a limited number of installs (although they claim that Atari will 'reauthorize' you for more if you call in and beg appropriate reason) isn't compatible with W7 x64, and W7 will prevent the 'driver' from installing as a result. Fortunately W7 will also automatically direct you to the right website if you click the "check for a solution online" panel.

I wasn't a fan of voluntarily downloading and installing a driver like this, but let's face it, if you install the game you were doing something like this tacitly anyway. It just wasn't as in-your-face.

Oh, there's also a v1.1 patch available - search around, Fileplanet or other places should have it. Wouldn't want the game to crash just because you threw some guard into a big fan to get shredded or something....

5 out of 5 eggsUnbelievable Deal!

Pros: It is Extremely rare when a software title like this comes across at $3.99! Both Butcher Bay and Athena are included and the gameplay is one of the top three finest in all fps games of all time! Diesel should get an Academy Award for is work on this game. He was brilliant. This game will never grow tired.

Cons: I can't find one!

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Bought the original a long time ago. Bought this one more recently and played thru both again. Like the original better, but both are certainly worth your time at $4! Wow! Nice cut scenes. Good voice acting for the most part especially Vin. Really pulls you in the game. Ran great on Win7, X2-2400, 2GB RAM, and Geforce9600GSO.

Cons: A little dated. A little repetitive.

Other Thoughts: Some of the harsh language seems to be in there just for the sake of having harsh language. I can take the language ala Pulp Fiction style when it actually flows with the dialogue, but this is just forced.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: ummm its 7 bucks.. as another reviewer stated, i also started the game on the original xbox and never finished it so i thought id give her another go. I remember the game got rave reviews when it was released and was a surprise standout fps. To be honest it was and still is a standout fps. It incorporates strategy, fps run and gun, and stealth which is awsome. You can shoot out lights and ambush guards in the dark or you can flush a toilet ie a trap to make them investigate... sneak up behind them and snap their neck.. brilliant. you get to commandeer several armored robots which keeps the gameplay fresh. the story is ok too for those that follow.. i dont really. graphics wise (butcher bay reference) its dated obviously even at 1980 x 1200 and the graphical "overhaul'

Cons: everyone whines about DRM. yes its a pain but really? ur seriously going to one egg this game because you only get 3 installs? ill beat the game and never touch it again so what do i care. by the time i feel like picking it up again atari will have pulled drm from the game anyway. as for the real cons.. the game was short. im only referencing butcher bay, i havnt touched assault on dark athena yet. it took roughly 10 hrs tops to beat which is fine. i played with a 5750 and got a lot of screen flickering which was annoying and the gameplay didnt feel smooth because of if. other than that there isnt a whole lot to complain about for 7 bucks.

Other Thoughts: this game is worth buying alone for the butcher bay experience. its a nice blend of a run and gun shoot em up mixed with splinter cell. the game has a nice flow to it meaning you shouldnt get stuck or get lost back tracking tooo much so that's a plus. im gettin older so if i get stuck in a game i tend to lose interest but this game kept it. beat it in a week playing off and on. worth 7 bucks people. as for the other reviewer claiming that the game wont activate.. mine wouldnt either and i was pretty upset at first. then of course i realized i had two characters in the activation code switched around sooo that was a rookie mistake and pry the other reviewers as well.

1 out of 5 eggsActivation Issues

Pros: Cheap.
Fun (Pending)

Cons: 1) Activation thorough their server doesn't work. ;_;
2) 3 installs max.
3) Activation headaches

Other Thoughts: Other people seem to be having trouble with activation. I entered the CD-Code and try to get a activation code from Atari server, but was given a blank page. Checked the forum, and I found no help. There were repeated postings of activation problem and game crash issue.

I want to play it!!!! ;_;

My system meet the requirement:
Athlon X2 2350 (OC 2.7ghz)
Memory 3gb
nVidia 8800gt

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: New Egg Rocks!!! $9 bucks. I started the original Butchers Bay on the old Xbox, so I wanted to finish the game. The new graphic enhancements are great. The voice acting is superb.

Cons: I would recommend this game for the Butcher Bay. I started the Dark Athena and it feels somewhat of a let down. Maybe play the Dark Athena first then the Butcher Bay.
