1 out of 5 eggsDont get it.

Pros: Space game, lots of info on the game within the game.

Cons: This game was on sale and cheap, but it was a terrible decision even at that price, or any. I would not give this away for fear someone would try to play it.
This game has many flaws the ship system the time system and the money, fighting , movement, bartering, races, etc.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for gifting

Pros: Had a rebate

Cons: None since it was free that is if I do get the rebate.

Other Thoughts: Not a big gamer so I will either git this to someone or it will take years for me to get to playing it but hey maybe one day.

4 out of 5 eggsElite is back and better

Pros: Game is absolutely stunning. Lots and lots of stations, lots of sectors to explore. Lots of missions ranging from plot, freelance, and various others you can take on also ranging in difficulty. Lots of races to interact with along with lots of ships to fly, stations and structures to build, and wares to trade.

Cons: The only issue I have with the game is the lack of information when possible free-lance missions are posted. Alot of times you MAY not be able to complete them because they are either too far away, it could damage your reputation or don't have the proper equipment.

Other Thoughts: Game likes clock speeds. I have a Phenom X3 8650 and once I overclocked it to 2.7Ghz its running alot smoother.

Overall, very excellent game along the same lines of the venerable Elite game, except much improved. Explore, Trade, Fight, and build your massive empire.

5 out of 5 eggsThis game is interesting

Pros: This game is like crack to the committed gamers who like to work hard to earn the almost unearnable. Like in MMO's when you have to grind for a month solid to get the best item on the server, X3 has amazing conceptual possiblities (IE setting up a battlestation of your own factories, supplies, ship convoys, and guard towers. Declaring the sector yours and declaring war on any race that enters the sector.)

Cons: This is also its downside, however as to do such things requires a huge amount of credits in game and just to own your very first mini cruiser can take up to 20-40 hrs in game. The feeling you get when you jump in the cockpit is amazing, however.

Other Thoughts: This game deserves 5 eggs because its just so friggin imaginative and goes outside the box. The fact that each time I play I can create a buisness plan full of goals and ideas in order to make the most profits is awesome. One time I was a mining mogul with a fleet of miners and mining stations. Another time I decided I would declare war on a specific race and defend my friendly nations to the death. Another time you can become a drug lord and loot and pillage and drink space fuel and smuggle space weed. The world is yours. Good hunting

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: this game has great graphics except for this dust or snow looking stuff that kinda makes it hard to see somtimes...huge game play environment...i no alot of peeps r sayn that it has a steep curve but it for me it really wasnt that bad as long as you have the manual and do the training mission(no timelimits on the first few missions give you time to figure stuff out

Cons: It takes for ever to get from point a to point b inside a sector...but then again mabey its cuz i havent got the better ships yet...also you can only save at docking stations so if you crash or get killed your gona be set back quite abit

Other Thoughts: It is a pretty good game...the only thing i dont like about it is the fact that on the first few missions so far i can click the auto pilot on the jump gate your sposed ta go to and i have time to smoke a cig and come back before i actually get to it...

5 out of 5 eggs2.0 version review

Pros: Great detail level all around.
Is addictive a Pro?
Installs with no problem, no key code required to install.

Cons: Mostly an adult game with patience being priority one. I heard it had a really high learning curve, but it's more a patience curve imo. This game will push your computer to the limit, so be aware it might not work on your system! My friend had this problem with trying it on his old (over 1 yr) MCI laptop, couldn't find drivers P.

Other Thoughts: I love this game! I buy allot of computer games, and this is the one that stands out for me!

-Don't expect Freelancer-

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Lots of replay value.
-Hundreds of hours worth of gameplay.
-Hundreds of ships.
-Massive variety of weapons.
-Hundreds of sectors to explore.
-Never-ending in terms of random missions that are constantly available.
-Challenging, but not impossible.

Cons: -It can get somewhat repetitive.
-I've had several crashes--at least I know they are coming because the FPS noticeably drops.
-Have to have the DVD in the drive to make Tages happy.
-The voice acting, in general, is pretty poor; however, it beats lots of reading so it doesn't bother me.
-Steep learning curve.
-Can get overwhelming with too much stuff to do at once.

Other Thoughts: They fixed a lot of game-breaking bugs with this release. It could still use another patch to fix those crashes though.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good game

Pros: Overall the graphics are stunning. Great detail. This game really capitalizes on just how BIG space really is. Missions are easy to find entering a system and trade is always changing.

Cons: "Space Dust" kinda pixelates and looks bad at higher resolutions on large monitors. Hopefully there will be a patch fixing this.Having not played any of the other games from the X universe the learning curve was nearly a wall. I'm still far from being good at it.

Other Thoughts: This game is not for flaky gamers. If you want a game you can beat in 4 hours on marathon mode go play Halo. My main save is compiled of over a week of gameplay and I'm far from "beating it."

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Space Sim.

Pros: 1. Menu's and overall controls are streamlined over X3 reunion
2. Best graphics of any space sim to date.
3. Rewarding if you spend enough time to learn.
4. Lots of space to explore, lots of missions.

Cons: 1. Players new to the X universe will have to spend awhile learning the controls, menus.
2. Some of the voice acting is really bad.

Other Thoughts: This is not a space combat sim, although it has combat in it. Its about trading, exploring, and fighting. You have to do all three. This is an open universe to explore. It doesn't hold your hand. So if you buy this expecting X-wing, wing commander, or Freespace, you will be disappointed. If you give it time however, it can be a great game.

Runs maxed out @ 1920 x 1200 on : Q6600 (3.0Ghz) 8GB DDR2, 8800 GTX OC, Vista 64 bit.
