1 out of 5 eggsDoes most of what it says I guess

Pros: no pros

Cons: It wil not clone. what I bought it for. The product key activates only 30 days the software. I have complaimed repeatedly but I keep getting referred to acronis who does not respond to newegg or me so I'm out 19.99. Now I'm trying to get my money and I and it seem as futile as trying to get funtional product key that permanent
ly unlocks the software

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Pros: Easy to install on PC

Cons: Could not get it to work. Simple 64G SSD clone to 120G. Many failed tries. Good luck trying to get Acronis to help! I waited too long to install, now I can't get a refund.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat back-up and cloning software

Pros: Used this to back up and clone my primary drive that was on it's way out. Worked perfectly and very simple to use. Price at 19.99 is about 50 percent of retail so that was great, thanks Newegg!

Cons: There are a lot of features that I will never use nor will ever have a need for, which is why it retails at 49.99.

Other Thoughts: manly got this for the clone drive feature and it worked perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsImaging HDD to SSD - flawless

Pros: Once I remembered to install and run the program with "run as administrator" (choose at install and again when launching), ATI 2012 quickly and FLAWLESSLY cloned the laptop's HDD to the new SSD. No problem cloning the recovery images and Toshiba backup partition. Automatic mode set the partitions properly and even handled the 4k alignment for the SSD.

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: Not currently using the backup functionality, but I wonder if the folks having issues failed to choose that when they installed and/or ran the program.

1 out of 5 eggsToo full of Bugs to be usefule

Pros: Other users got their money back. I haven't bothered to try. It would be more wasted time.

Cons: This product is not worth the frustration. It is best summed up in the forum post at the Acronis Web site "27184: ATIH 2012 is not working product. Do NOT buy it. If you have bought it, return it." There are only 198 replies to this post which was placed November 28, 2011.

Backup is important to me. I need to be able to do a bare metal restore and be up and running in less than an hour. I have used versions of True Image for about 4 years and each version became more difficult to use and more full of bugs.

I recently upgraded to ATIH 2012 to two different machines. Each were clean installs of W7. In both machines ATIH 2012 sometimes just "Fails" to make a backup. I have never had it connect to a helpful linked error message, it is usually one that says there is not help. The forum describes that support is virtually non-existant.

2 out of 5 eggsHave a NAS? Look elsewhere.

Pros: I've been saved a few times by previous versions and was devoted to True Image.

Cons: Version 12 has an awful UI and is entirely broken with regard to backups directly to NAS.

I had to purchase three additional drives to backup my three licensed machines locally and then copy the backups to the NAS.

Consult the Acronis support site for more information. This problem is the subject of several threads numbering 50 or more messages. No help from the manufacturer.
