5 out of 5 eggsDo Yourself A Favor Buy This

Pros: I've been using Acronis True Image for over 18Yrs. It's Very Dependable and Easy to use. Out of at least 130+ PC Backups only 1 was not Restorable, Well Better than other products I or my friends have tried. Now it offers several Other Features than just BackUp. I Highly recommend you put your money on this product, you won't regret it..

Cons: Using for over 18 yrs. and really don't have any cons..

Pros: Much easier setup than 2012 Version. Nice add-ons too.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Acronis is still the best backup software out there. Read the "Help" section to get everything you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsTastey AF

Pros: New layout. Same useful features. Booted off the DVD straight out of the box with zero issues. Great piece of software! Highly recommend. If you have any issues with this product, contact me at zachman690@gmail.com.

Cons: The files on the disc take up almost 2GB. More than I've ever seen with Acronis. But, it's not a big deal!

1 out of 5 eggsLearn how to use BusyBox first

Pros: Didn't work for cloning Windows 8 HDD to SSD so I can't say about pros. Acronis's support group tells people who can't get cloning to work to not clone their HDD, but use a fresh windows install. However, OEM's use cloned images for their recovery disks. For me that negates the reason to use this software in the first place. It came with my SSD to clone the HDD to the SSD.

Cons: Acronis uses a UEFI boot loader and BusyBox for cloning, but they didn't program an exit if it crashes, which crashes your boot loader and you're stuck with an endless loop in the Acronis boot loader. This is how I recovered my Windows after days of trial and error. When the Acronis boot loader starts, type e then hit return. When BusyBox gives you a command prompt, type kill 1. When your computer reboots, hit F12 or whatever key lets to select the boot device. With no other boot device except the HDD, the computer booted by into Windows. I ran checkdisk just in case.

Other Thoughts: Acronis needs to add a way to abort out of their UEFI loader when Acronis fails. Their support groups only gave elaborate and complicated ways to recover. Apparently, the best method was to use a batch file, but you had to already create it before the crash.

2 out of 5 eggsJunk Do Not Buy

Pros: None

Cons: Will not install and run or work in Windows 8.1 new fresh install.

Other Thoughts: The best Image software are FREE like Win 8.1 File History , System Image. and also Redo Image backup both are 100% and work good.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Makes backups easily.

Cons: Unable to move true image onto new ssd. Win 8.1. Just trying to install a faster SSD in laptop with a slow and oversized SSD.

Other Thoughts: May the designers of Win 8 and 8.1 roast.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid backup software

Pros: Works as advertised. Black Friday price. Easy to use. Archives are easy to browse. Good compression ratio.

Cons: I feel that the 2014 interface was much better. It almost feels as though they gave up half way through designing the main interface and it directs you to a folder with shortcuts for half of the tasks. How hard would it be to add an entry for the rest of the programs. Works good but, interface is blah.

Other Thoughts: Nice reliable backup software. Very easy to browse the backup archives to pull out a file here and there as needed rather than going through a whole restore process. Backups compress surprisingly very very small when set to high compression I believe (second from highest). Uses very little resources. I deducted an egg for a half hearted effort and the 2014 interface was much better anyways.

5 out of 5 eggsIt does what it is intended to do

Pros: Please be patient as this is my first review.
We decided to purchased Acronis True image 2015 after our hard drive failed and we lost some irreplaceable family pictures. The software worked flawlessly on our SanDisk ssd 120gb drive, but once my husband cloned the SanDisk over to the Samsung 840 evo it would no longer create a backup. My husband quickly found the solution on Google, you simply have to create a rescue disc. Once created reboot your computer, boot from the cd and you can easily back your system up. The software works flawlessly now.

Cons: The software refuses to create a backup in windows 7, this apparently has to do with our Samsung 840 evo using a gpt partition. However from what we have read mbr works fine.

Other Thoughts: We are hoping that at some point Acronis will solve the problem. Until then it is not really a big deal to use the rescue disc just a tad inconvenient.

1 out of 5 eggsDecent product...terrible customer support policy

Pros: The new user interface is straight forward and user friendly. Universal Restore is now included as opposed to being an add on. Product worked great until last update.

Cons: Upgraded to the 2015 version Sept 17th. Acronis pushed an update yesterday, Oct 22nd. Upon installing update, the backup image job no longer fired successfully. I cloned the the backup job, still errored out. I recreated the backup job, still errored out. I finally decided to try customer support. After jumping through their hoops, the live chat support agent tells me I have to pay for a support incident. Pay for customer support on a product I purchased a little over a month ago due to an issue caused by their update....seriously?

Other Thoughts: Terrible customer support policy. I think I'll apply the money I would have spent for the support ticket on a new disk imaging software.
