Pros: True Image is one of the premier backup programs. It can be setup for an unattended backup set to run when you are not at your computer. It can backup your personal files and folders or perform a complete backup of your hard disk or partition. It has additional tools that allow you to create a clone of your hard disk should you want to swap out the old one. You can do a secure erase of the empty space on your computer that meets the government specifications for data destruction.

Cons: Acronis has a forums section that user's having difficulties can post their problem and other users give them suggestions for a solution. It would be nice if the Acronis developers visited the forums and a more consistent basis. If you want support from Acronis you basically have to submit a ticket outlining your problem.

Other Thoughts: I have used True Image for 10 years or more and I have been very pleased with how well the program works. As the program has evolved the user interface has gotten more and more simplified making it easier for the novice user. I really like the user interface on some of the earlier versions better, but then I am not a novice. As it is virtually anyone should be able to successfully create a backup of their machine. I would recommend this program to anyone needing a good backup program.

Cons: doesn't work for full disk clone on windows 10.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to clone my hard drives with windows 10. previous TI versions worked for me for windows xp and 7. this versions does not work on windows 10.

Pros: Simple interface
It works!

Cons: Problems moving QuickBooks licensing information.

Pros: Backup and restore has always been solid with Acronis. I create encrypted images of my hard disk automatically on a schedule.

Cons: The user interface gets worse with every release. 2016 version pops up ads on your desktop for Aconis products and there is no way to turn this off. That's just one of many quirks that make the product barely usable. Options are LESS configurable than with 2013 version.

Also, it imported my backup settings from 2013 but disabled the encryption without telling me. I had to create a new backup to turn this back on. Anyone think that's a bit of a security hole?

Other Thoughts: I've used Acronis 2009, 2013 and now 2016. Took a chance on great Newegg deal for the upgrade because I was hoping GUI had improved in the last 3 years. Wasn't expecting perfection but certainly didn't expect it to get worse and include adware.

Pros: They cover every base.from boot disks to complete PC backup. They work with the OS image and can copy and clone OS even across different hardware.

Cons: Cannot use Intel IRST acceleration with a SSD. Before BU, I have to disable the acceleration. Kind of a pain. AS far as using restore, I haven't had to do that yet, so I cannot speak for how well it restores.
