Pros: Restores EXT4 Linux partitions in dual boot setup. Resize partitions when restoring to new drive. Backups up Linux partitions in live Windows 10 session so you can backup while using the computer.

Cons: Program is constricted for easy use.. I personally would like an advanced GUI option.

Other Thoughts: I do recommend.
Also restored openSuSE Tumbleweed GRUB2 from an "Entire Computer" backup made in Windows.

Pros: Its ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE, RIGHT?

Cons: I purchased the Download 3 PC version, thinking it was the Acronis Software that I could burn to CD. When I tried to download it the Acronis website informed me that I had an older version of Acronis 2011 on my PC; and I must uninstall before I can download. I assume that the website installs Acronis 2016 directly to the PC. I do not need this. I purchased Acronis for a new Laptop.

Other Thoughts: I will try to learn if I can actually burn the Download to a CD/DVD or Jump Drive.

Pros: Great tool for backing up, imaging and replicating drives. Used to be the gold standard of commercial tools.

Cons: New versions UI has been 'simplified' and I still cannot find options I had before. (compression?)

Keeps nagging me to log in and also use the cloud backup trial (not going to happen...). I cannot disable this. Cannot restore backups to 32 bit machines running UEFI boot loader (most Win tablets)

Other Thoughts: I wish I could downgrade to the 2015 version.
This version is made for 'dummies' who use touch screens, not for power users (who dont want to deal with dd or other tools) anymore. I'm looking for another tool. Function was an afterthought to Form for this version, its like they hired Johnny Ives to design the UI (and remove all the functionality) -- I hate post-Jobs Apple.

Pros: FINALLY got this to function properly, after 3 failed installation attempts and 2 hours online with Customer Service Chat.

Cons: I tried installing Acronis True Image 2016 on my Win7 32bit laptop and could not get it to do ANYTHING except display the message "Failed to deploy task. Restart your computer and try again." I tried a "repair" of the install with no luck. I then tried totally uninstalling, performing a restart, and doing a clean install as administrator, and it still didn't do anything except display the error message. Tried performing a disk clone, as well as a simple "backup" without any success at all. Finally, I contacted customer service chat, and, after 2 hours online with them remotely controlling my system, they finally ran their "cleanup tool" and gave me a direct link to their server to download the latest installation file (which was the same file I had previously used...based on the downloaded size). After trying one more time, it appears the software is finally operational. I'm not sure if the problem was in the web installer downloaded installation program or if something messed up during the initial install, but obviously the cleaner and subsequent install download fixed the problem. A very frustrating experience, indeed, but I did finally get the opportunity to clone my laptop system drive.

Other Thoughts: So far so good, but be aware of the potential problems IF your initial installation doesn't go perfectly.

Pros: It fails . . quickly

Cons: This software is designed to fail - at least when cloning a Windows 10 PC with a PCI-e based boot drive. You boot to windows to set up the clone, selecting source and target drives. This part works. ATI 2016 then reboots the PC with a Unix loader which does not find the source drive (incompatible).

Other Thoughts: I'll kiss that $25 goodbye and thankfully found "AOMEI Backupper Standard" (best) and "EaseUS Partition Master" (very good) both of which have free versions that can clone my boot drive.

Pros: It works. Install on all your PCs (License for each PC required)...
Make a Restore Disk or USB stick in case your hard drive crashes and you need to restore to a new hard drive from a backed up image.
Can resize partitions automatically (unlike Reflect) to your new target hard drive.
Has cloning modes, Restore to different hardware capability, etc.

Cons: The interface. I've been using True Image for years and I don't care for this dumbed down Win8/10 interface.
But Acronis feels the need to look like the new versions of Windows and it's what the touch-oriented Milleniums want..Oh well..Did NOT work for a restore of my UEFI Windows 10 Tablet.

Other Thoughts: The current version of this works fine without issues for me on all EIGHT of my Windows 10 32bit (Home and PRO) PCs.
I only do full backups about every 3 weeks or so on all of them to alternating external USB hard drives so I can't comment
on incremental/scheduled backups, etc but it's there if that's what you want to do. They give you free cloud storage for about a month
but I'm not interested in that as I have too many computers and too little bandwidth to ever do that.
I switched to this version after upgrading to Windows 10...Before upgrading to this new version I did use the FREE version of
Macrium Reflect and liked that with it's simple interface but it was going to be way too costly to install the pay version of Reflect on all of my nine PCs and I wanted a PAY version so I could exclude files and folders from the backups. When I got the Black Friday offer of $25 to cover 3 PCs I jumped at the chance and bought 3 copies to cover all NINE
of my computers (4 Desktops, 4 Laptops, and one Windows 10 tablet)...This did NOT work with UEFI boot WINDOWS 10 Tablet
for restore purposes. It was appearing to work as it would backup the Tablet but when I tried to do a restore it could not find the target drive on the tablet and I tried both the Acronis Linux restore and the WinPE restore...Neither could find the drive of the Windows 10 UEFI Tablet. It works for the other eight Windows 10 Legacy systems OK. So for the price I'm still satisfied but I had to do a Windows 10 upgrade to get the tablet working again and then I backed it up with the Free Version of Macrium Reflect and I tested with Reflect after making the backup to confirm I can restore with the WinPE recover USB flash drive I created with it (Unlike the Acronis Flash drive that would not work). If I had not had so many systems to backup I would have gone with Macrium but given I have nine systems Acronis is still the best choice for me and I'll just use the Free version of Macrium Reflect for the tablet since I don't have much data on that and don't need to exclude anything on it...

Pros: None that I can tell

Cons: I tried using this to cloning an Windows OS SSD. I liked that the program does the cloning outside of Windows, but after it was done the new SSD would not boot. So just a waste of money. I had to clean install after having wasted hours on this. To be fair, no other cloning program I tried worked either, but those were free apps. I thought a paid app would have some more tricks under its sleeves.

Other Thoughts: I would stick with a free app next time like Macrium or Paragon for nonOS drives. For OS drives, may have to do a fresh install unfortunately.

Pros: Reasonably-priced at Newegg with promo code.

Cons: Would not create a system image ("true" or otherwise) of a computer running Windows 8.1.
No better than the DOS "XCOPY" command for data backup.
Loads it's own adware when installed.

Other Thoughts: I tried to use this software as a backup solution for 2 home computers running Windows 8.1. It turns out this version of Windows blocks the ability to copy or modify system and program files, even when you are the administrator. The Microsoft web site suggested some hacks to solve this issue, but none of them worked. I ended up using up all my 3 allowed installs trying to find some way to back up installed programs, but eventually gave up and absorbed the loss as the cost of a lesson learned.

To add insult to injury, when installed, this product displays a popup screen every time the system wakes from hibernation or is started, that tries to sell you more copies. The only way to rid myself of this annoyance was to uninstall it.

Pros: Really haven't used it yet. Installed easy enough

Pros: Purchased a 3 seat full licenses for 24.99 on Black Friday
Easy to use and must for any Windows owner.
