Taking place just after the events in the movie Aliens 3, Sega's Aliens: Colonial Marines puts you in the combat boots of a United States Colonial Marine in this co-operative squad-based tactical shooter. Explore the abandoned USMS Sulaco and the planet LV-426 with its wrecked alien spacecraft as seen in the first two movies. Go beyond the movies as your mission takes you to futuristic cities on other planets.

With a plot written by Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek: DS9 writers David Weddle and Bradley Thompson, and using the Unreal Engine, players find themselves immersed in claustrophobic environs as part of a four-man Marine squad with sudden death lurking nearby. Play solo in command of your squad – with the ability to shift from Marine to Marine - or take on the aliens with three other friends with drop-in/drop-out cooperative play.

Each Marine has unique weapons, skills and duties as well as specific mission objectives. The familiar M4A1 pulse rifle and M240 flamethrower will be close at hand as will other favorites and some new equipment as well. The aliens have different classes as well and will respond differently to situations and threats – they won't just throw themselves into the path of your M56 Smart gun. The demo you watched so many times hoping to see aliens and creepy environments...NOT THERE. Poor story line, poor graphics(not even close to what was demo'd) Just a rip off. Other Thoughts: This game is not worth the $$$. maybe 9.99 or free with purchase but you will hate this game. You only play against aliens in 3 sections of the many levels. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!? you fight the corporation for the rest of the game. Folks the game is called "ALIENS: Colonial Marines" A L I E N S!!!! What the heck!!!! The AI is criminal as to be mentally challenged....just ridiculous. Piedude128 3/24/2013 2:51:26 PM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 4/5	Rating: 5/5It's Not That Bad, Actually Pros: -Great Multiplayer -Patches still coming out for it to improve it -Co-op -Play as Aliens -Graphics are pretty good -Canon to Aliens film -A LOT of interesting collectibles for die-hard Aliens fans -Fun Modes -Bug Hunt mode with friends is a blast Cons: -Mediocre Single-Player -Needs Dedicated Servers -Limited Maps and Modes (DLC may fix that, though) Other Thoughts: I personally think this game isn't that bad. People's expectations were too high for this game, therefore resulting in the bad reviews. While this game IS a little more like Call of Duty than to Aliens, it's still a fun game regardless. Pros: No pros here, after finishing Dead Space 3 and realizing that the bar was pretty high I made the mistake of playing this garbage game. Cons: Everything.. Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money on this game. Nice nods to visuals and sounds to Aliens Movie Cons: Dark on Dark Aliens just appear in front of you Installation was a pain and involved more unneeded software from MS. Animations have that cheap Hanna Barbara quality. Other Thoughts: At first the game really scared the pants off me. I was hesitant to get started as knew the aliens would start coming. I got over it. Once they start coming they just magically appear in front and then your are dead. Then I start over and again and again, then it gets annoying instead of fun. On the first encounter of the aliens, there is one that jumps off a ledge. It seems to zoom like a cheap cartoon instead of a 3d object. I am running the PC version, and the graphics are good with special effects and the rest is no where near the quality I expected from the demo videos. Cons: When YouTube game-play reviews started showing up for the release of ACM, and before I had received the game, I was completely dissatisfied. The release version in no way looked like the early promotional in-game videos I based my pre-release purchase on. Something at GearBox is seriously broken. I refused the delivery of the game, and am hopeful that Newegg is not experiencing a major back up as they try to deal with all the returns and refusals that ACM must have generated. Cons: Sloppy development that has been bashed in numerous gaming articles. Extremely linear, repetitive, and disappointing. The source material is epic and Gearbox didn't capture any of it.
