4 out of 5 eggsResident evil 4

Pros: Has better graphics then the console versions.
decent Ai for its time.
runs on windows 7
BEST STORY LINE TO DATE
run it at 1280/720 thats 720p
can use the xbox 360 controler

Cons: it just frezzes randomly,me and my friend beat this like 3 times and it frezzes at the worst places like boses

this is not that bad of a port if you have a controler

Other Thoughts: MY rig is antec 380 watt
3GB of ram
AMD 620 2.6ghz qued
xfx 9500gt 512mb

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Garbage

Pros: Came with extras found in both the PS2 and GC versions.

Cons: Instead of rendering the cut scenes in real time like Capcom did with the GC version, this port takes the already compressed and pre-rendered scenes from the PS2 version and compresses them even more to the point that the scenes look pitifully pixelated.

No mouse support but I was used to using my 360 controller anyway so this missing feature didn't bother me at all. There is an unofficial patch that adds in mouse support.

Completely stupid keyboard setup. You will need a controller of some sort to play this.

This game constantly crashes (whether or not its because I'm running Vista I do not know). I had to fight one boss in the actual storyline 4 times because of this and I cannot get past Ada's fight with Krauser at all.

Other Thoughts: Avoid this incredibly awful port. Buy the console version instead if you can. This "port" is a total waste of money. I had to download over 4GB of additional mods to make this game even somewhat visually appealing. Its a shame that the people who buy this game are the ones actually fixing anything about it.

There really is no excuse for this terrible port. When RE4 originally made it's debut it pushed graphical boundaries. This port was released 2 years after and is in every way inferior. I am now staying away from any port that bares Ubisoft's logo.

5 out of 5 eggsPlay it on a platform

Pros: Resident Evil 4 is of course an amazing game. The game play was outstanding and the storyline was perfection at its best. I enjoyed how they brought Leon back into the groove of things since many have not seen him since RE2. I have beaten the game about nine to ten times and its always had a great replay value.

Cons: Where to begin? Even though I have given this game five eggs, there are still a bunch of downfalls. It really was a bummer to see how they took away the alternative camera angles from previous RE games and just slapped on the "behind the shoulder" angle. The game was not scary at all and was more action packed. There was hardly any creepy background music and the scenarios were too bland for my tastes. There were hardly any puzzles to be solved, and hey, what do you know-there are barely any doors that need keys! And last but not least, the whole feel of the game was taken away by Capcom taking away the zombies. WHY TAKE THE ZOMBIES?! The AI for the Garnados were that of a mental patient...but I guess I could say the same thing for the past zombies.

Other Thoughts: Resident Evil 4 was a great game and I would definitely advise it to any gamer...but they just took away the entire feel of the whole Resident Evil series. This is what I feared most for Resident Evil 5. Resi. 5 continued the same trend that 4 left behind. The game isn't that game that scared the daylights out of me. The game isn't that game that made me scared to go to sleep at night. Resident Evil just lost its touch. I miss the eerie scenarios, the scary background music, and most of all-the zombies and disfigured monsters. But hey, at least they made it to where you aren't scrambling around the whole place to look for ink ribbons! Hahaha.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Horrible

Pros: It makes a pretty Frisbee.

Cons: This console game is a terrible excuse to take pc gamers money. Be serious, Capcom! They just slapped this puppy into the pc straight from PS2. If I wanted to play the PS2 game, I would play it on my big screen tv, instead of my computer monitor, and I wouldn't have to buy a controller to run it. I will think very strongly about not purchasing a Capcom game again.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: the game looks awsome if u have a decent to great machine. mine plays as smooth as you can get and i only have a single HD 3850. gameplay could have used a bit more refining when they ported it for PC. but its still very well playable wit a controller.

Cons: unlike stated below only the movie sequences look unifinshed because for some reason they play at their own resolution instead of the one chosen at setup.

Other Thoughts: start learning the game mechanics fast..it doesnt give you time to get accustomed to the gameplay. once you start the game..5minutes later ull find yourself in a zombie flooded situation ull HAVE to deal with.

3 out of 5 eggsDont know what to say

Pros: I got the game to work and it was very fun (once I got a controller for it)

Cons: you NEED a controller to play this game, the button configuration makes it impossible to play on a keyboard and the mouse support sucks. Also I bought this game but had to steal a hacked version because I couldn't get a CD-key so I needed a keygen

Other Thoughts: Get a controller for this game and your set. Also its recommended that you have a good video card to run this game otherwise you will be getting like 15 FPS or 20 like me on my home computer

5 out of 5 eggsComplete

Pros: Resident Evil 4 is one of the best put together 3rd person action RPG games out there today. I own it for ps2 gamecube and computer. The graphics of course wont be as stunning on the computer, because it is a PORT.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: if you enjoy horror action RPGs then this game will amaze you.

4 out of 5 eggsRE4 for the PC

Pros: Amazing storyline, white-knuckle gameplay. Very creepy at times. The chainsaw wielding freaks scare the heck outta me!

Cons: No mouse support. I had to buy a controller for the game to work. Which cost me another twenty bucks. The Logitech DualAction gamepad works fine. No point in wasting $30-50 for an Xbox 360 one; thats just dumb.

Other Thoughts: The American version is already patched to 1.0, and includes all of the updates that the European patch 1.1 does, so dont even try to install it (it wont work anyhow). Game runs fine on my 7800GT @ 1280x1024, 4xAA 8xAF. For some reason, I tell the game not to run in widescreen, but it still does. Also, there is a 30FPS cap. Which sucks, but oh well. This game is TOTALLY worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsResident Evil 4

Pros: Best of the Resident Evil series. Fascinating story with challenging gameplay. Great weaponry/upgrades. Some of the eriest sound created for horror/survival. Visual effects during gameplay are great. Contains all the bonus features of the console version. The splattering of your foes has never been so fun.

Cons: Poor MPG4 movie and cutscence quality compared to console versions. No mouse support (but it's meant to be played with a controller).

Other Thoughts: If you haven't played this RE instament, give it a try. I can only hope that Capcom keeps releasing more titles for PC.
