The ice planet E.D.N. III was colonized by Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC) only to see the humans chased from its surface by the native insectoid Akrid. When it was discovered that the Akrid contained a thermal energy source called T-ENG, humanity returned to harvest the Akrid. During the original evacuation, Gale Holden fell in battle holding off the insects but his son, Wayne, was left behind. He is found by humans who refused to leave, but he has no memory of his past – only a mysterious implant in his arm.
This device – the Harmonizer – uses T-ENG to heal wounds and provide warmth, keeping you alive as you set out to seek revenge in this third-person shooter. Along the way, you'll uncover your past and have plenty of opportunities to destroy swarms of the insect-like aliens with advanced weaponry. The heavily-armed robotic Vital Suits will let you cross vast areas of snowy terrain as well as taking the fight deep underground. Fight through destructible environments as you take on swarms of killer Arkid and humans from opposing factions. Earth-shaking bugs and missile- and laser-armed Vital Suits attempt to destroy you.
Four different online modes let you play with up to 15 other players for epic combat in beautifully-rendered, vast environments with destructible scenery, vehicles and objects. From towering structures to underground tunnels, you can go head-to-head or team for deathmatch, and team deathmatch games as well as fugitive mode where one player is the hunted while the others the hunters. The fourth mode pits two opposing teams against each other in trying to secure and defend multiple positions. The Colonies Edition includes additional multi-player battle maps along with new monsters and weapons. Players can now take on the role of the insects in Human vs. Akrid combat. In addition to six additional online multi-player modes, three new single-player modes have been included.

Good game.
- Pros: It's a good game and I even purchased it for the xbox 360 to play against my son over xbox live and it works well.
- Cons: It's finicky with my logitech gamepad but I sorted out the issue.
Lost Mind Extreme Self Torture
- Pros: The cover art and some screenies were interesting, as was the concept. Some of the negative reviews here and elsewhere were extremely amusing. Its price is less than it used to be and of course cheaper again by being on Newegg. Easy to order by pushing some buttons.
- Cons: Was purchased as a christmas gift for my kids, who were actually MORE interested in this title after reading the years worth (or more) of generally bad reviews gamers have given the title all over the net. Some were so funny I have read them myself to others who have passed them along yet again. Hard to understand why I am paying for what is likely to be a negative experience to inspire our own cutting review/critique.
- Other Thoughts: On the original title, one reviewer here wrote "you will want to shoot yourself", another on a different site wrote something like '"the movement is actually so painfully slow (because you cant run) the player is reduced to throwing the grapple and dragging oneself along the ground to move more quickly.."' and '" ...or asking oneself why he or she needs to get power for the powerpack to keep yourself warm when you are INSIDE THE VOLCANO..."' So what's not to look forward too?? A good pick if you are looking to join the campiness of entertainment through complaining...

Terrible story
- Pros: Graphics can be prety good in some parts..
it seems like they spent some time on parts but others they didn't? cuz u can see a huge difference in graphics from area to area..indoors typically has better graphics.
- Cons: Story line is VERY dumb. Makes you want to shoot yourself..so be warned?
- Other Thoughts: Nice idea..but they didn't capitalize on it as seen in the "garabage" (won't let me say cr@#y..apaerently thats a bad word) story line and lacking graphics in some parts.
