Vehicles Terrestrial Motorworks has fused human and Votan technology into the Hannibal 800TR Quad. This four-wheel-drive, all-terrain powerhouse combines a hybrid engine that runs off petrohol and raw gulanite with a reinforced vysidium alloy frame to handle heavy loads and massive hits. There is no smoother ride across the new frontier than the rough-and-ready Hannibal 800TR.
Enemies Hellbugs are a nightmarish by-product of Votan terramorphing technology. These insectoid killing machines bore up from hives deep underground to gather food for their Matriarch, overwhelming their victims in a barrage of chattering teeth and blood-red carapaces. As awful as they are, Hellbug waste can be processed into petrohol, the only renewable fuel source on the frontier.
Locales The Arkfall has infused idyllic Marin County with gulanite, an otherworldly mineral that powers Votan technology. Now, driven by lust for the precious crystals, cyborg "Miner 99ers" have turned the bustling mining territory of Marin into a war-torn hell. Even the boldest Ark Hunters must overcome the dread that haunts this area as they confront its vicious denizens.
Activities The Votans came to Earth in titanic vessels called Arks. But an unexplained series of explosions broke the ships apart, surrounding the planet in a belt of orbiting debris. Now, without warning, chunks of the wreckage crash down to earth in cataclysmic "Arkfall events." Arkfalls are dynamic, scaling, multi-stage challenges drawing Ark Hunters, thugs, and hungry Hellbugs into frenzied battles for rare resources and alien technology. Those who brave an Arkfall might reap vast riches ... or perish in a storm of gunfire and screeching monsters.

First off, let me start with Trion World's support system is pathetic, the absolute worst I have ever seen (was floored when I was told 24-48 hours initially, and now I have serious reservations that my issue opened on 4/2 will be fixed before May). There's no telephone number, no response through the CSS Web (it feels akin to dropping your issue into a black hole and hoping for the best), and absolutely no way for a customer to escalate without spending 3 hours waiting for live chat. And after waiting 3+ hours for live chat, the technician ends with I have to escalate this to the next higher Tier 3. The best part, though, is the form letter the technician e-mails after the chat log that ends with "If you have any additional questions or concerns then please don't hesitate to let us know." How does one go about doing that? Pros: - Healthy amount of content which includes: -- Quests -- Challenges (race, rampage, achievements) -- Customization (outfits, headgear, vehicles) -- Gear (weapons, mods, shields) Cons: Cons: - Many outstanding bugs with the game (which were identified during beta, still present in the alpha release, and not addressed in either) -- At least one reputation quest is completely glitched to the point it's impossible to complete -- The mod system is kind of like Russian roulette, in that you have an equally likely chance of the game deleting the base item, as it does adding a mod slot - Awful PC interface (as a direct result of porting for the console version, lack of consideration for PC gamers is clearly evident) -- When hitting Esc does not bring up an option to exit the game, something is very wrong -- Requires PC users to cycle through the F1-F12, until they get to the correct "section" of the menu -- Once users get to the correct section of the menu, they need to select the correct "tab" (i.e. the Settings menu has Video, Audio, Controls, Account, etc) -- For example, in order to exit the game, the user has to find the Settings Menu, then select Account tab, and choose Exit Game, then confirm they want to exit (grouping/trade/interactions are very similar in repetition--an excessive amount of clicking/keying through menus) - Terrible support structure (which is wholly lacking in any form of customer service, as detailed above) Other Thoughts: *The sum of which garners--without a doubt--a solid "DO NOT BUY" rating.
