TREND MICRO Titanium Internet Security - 3 PCs

Pros: I think it is blocking viruses.

Cons: Purchased to replace expired Kaspersky. Installed before removing Kaspersky. After install, my computer would run a couple of minutes as Trend Micro and Kaspersky would fight and then it would lock up. Could not un-install Kaspersky or Trend Micro. Restored my computer from a backup 1 week earlier. Uninstalled Kaspersky. Installed Trend Micro successfully. Tried installing on a third computer - says I have it installed on too many comps and will not run. Tried finding contact info on Trend Micro web page - could not find anything. This is my first and last time to buy Trend Micro. Will install something free - AVG or Avast, etc or go back to Kaspersky.

Pros: I've been using Trend for over 3 years now, and have it installed on all of my personal machines, my wife's, my mother and father in-law, my own parents, and I also have the business version for my company of 45+ people and 3 servers. I've never used anything better. McAfee, Norton, Vipre, Kasperske, nothing beats Trend. Extremely simple for even my mother-in-law to understand how to use. You install it, and update it once, and it forever updates itself, blocks harmful websites, and cleans your computer with a scheduled tune up you can set up. Best anti-virus out there.

I have been running this on multiple machines all running different versions of Windows, and have had nothing but success. I have a very old Dell Inspiron 6000 running XP with 1GB of RAM, and it made that laptop run so much better than McAfee. I've also used it on Windows 7 (32 and 64) and Vista 32 bit with great success. The computer just runs better once all the old virus software is cleared out (which Trend does..

Other Thoughts: ...on installation. Beautiful product. You won't be sorry.

Pros: I loaded and removed it the same day. My older machine couldn't handle the background load and was so slow as to make it useless. Might work on a newer more powerful machine. I had used Norton Internet previously with better results.

Cons: Older machines not powerful enough to run it smoothly.

Pros: 1. Great protection (I ran it through some basic tests). It found a couple of "threats" that MSSE missed (though there were no chances of them actually running).
2. Great parental controls (nephews/nieces need to be limited on the computer when they come over). Easily limit user accounts to only certain amounts of online time, between certain hours, and the types of sites they're allowed to go to.
3. Price. Trend Micro is flooding the market with a lot of free-after-rebate deals.

Cons: A few years ago, I would have told people to avoid this product. Trend Micro was a lawsuit-throwing (see Barracuda Networks / clamAV lawsuit) sub-par product. It looks like they spent a few years, cleaned up their act, and released a great product.

Other Thoughts: I still can't bring myself to give them 5 eggs yet for abusing the legal system, software patents, and copyrights. Only time can heal a broken reputation. Trend Micro is working on it by concentrating on an excellent product instead of abusing and blackmailing their competitors. If they continue to concentrate on the software and making it this good and better, they'll soon be getting more 5-egg reviews.

A small warning to Trend Micro if they're reading this: Consumers like to give second chances, but rarely do they give thirds. Keep up the great work that went into this product, and you'll thrive.

Pros: Seems to work.

Cons: Just learned that there customer service will be charging you additional for there tech support services. WHY!?

Other Thoughts: I'd check out other software just to be sure this is what you want.
