5 out of 5 eggsPretty Awesome

Pros: Super lightweight. Super fast. Malware detection rate is insane. Plus their tech support is American based and free.

Cons: They recently changed the interface for the 2013 release of the product. This fixed the only con I had for it. Since it is so small and runs so fluidly, it almost felt too good to be true, and I had a hard time trusting that it was working at all. But like I said, the 2013 version shows you everything its doing in the background.

Other Thoughts: I had Avast on my computer for years till someone recommended this to me. I was never a fan of paying for something you could get for free, but I soon found that you get what you pay for. This is by far the best AV on the market to date.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and lightweight

Pros: Super fast and doesn't slow down your machine like others do. I have had one false positive in the almost year I've been using it. I reported it to Webroot and it was promptly fixed.

Cons: None really. Best AV I've ever used.

Other Thoughts: Some claim it doesn't work offline, not true at all. It can still identify threats and anything questionable it will remember and check the next time you are online. But lets be honest, unless you go around sticking random media in your PC while offline your risk of getting a virus while offline is near 0.

1 out of 5 eggsFast but has problems

Pros: Fast install and scans, that's about it

Cons: Killed my my wireless, had to restore PC to a different date and tell Webroot to leave my wireless alone, FYI when my wireless stopped working Webroot is useless since it works off the Internet

5 out of 5 eggsThe best AV for Online PCs

Pros: It takes about 1 second to download and 30 seconds to install (including initial virus check). It hardly uses any resources and it takes only a tiny ammount of space on your computer. It comes with a free 10GB of online backup and you can also use the online backup to backup photos and/or other files. The backup doesn't work for Outlook files yet since they can be so big and always updating.... It's too difficult to do that; but if you name the file by another name you can still back it up.

Make sure to register online since you need the online account to manage all of your computers and subsctiptions. You can also put your files so that they are avalible online.

Cons: It works online to check for infections; doesn't work offline.

Other Thoughts: This AV works completely differently than most all other AVs. It's cloud-based protection and doesn't nab the virus until it tries to do something (from what I understand). I've had it on a couple computers for a while now and never any issues.

The main plus of this antivirus is that it isn't a resource hog; it's a tiny program and uses almost no computer resources.

If you get the 3-PC version, you should only install it on your own computers since managing online licence and files for the same activation code manages everyone using it.

I highly recommend this program for anyone since it's so tiny (like 600KB) and it uses very few system resources. The 500-lb gorilla is located in the cloud. The program moniters your system this way and checks the files to see if they're known to be safe or not.

I really like the concept.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolute best AV on the market

Pros: Fast, easy to install, the Malware tools that re-enable task manager/regedit are amazing. Does not slow down your computer like Norton or Symantec. I use it alot to scan other infected drives always able to find an remove viruses. Great tool to have. The backup andpc management works great not complaints.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Great buy, fantastic program, worth every penny

5 out of 5 eggsAWSOME!!!

Pros: SUPERFAST!! When I u sed toplug in a flash drive loaded with downloaded util's it took avast and avg 30 seconds to scan drive - every time I plugged it in. Now it is instant. Very few false positive's - easily set to ignore my suspicious util's. My boot times are greatly reduced. With this anti virus and an ssd my 5 year old laptop now boots in 40 seconds (with password entry and OS select). Other AV's slowed copying from drive to drive (USB 3.0 and SATA). I have pirchased 7 copies of this for my friends with older computers. Extremely low operating overhead - system scans really fast. I even put it on my quad core desktop - the improvement is less noticeable there but is still significant.

Cons: If I had a complaint it would be insignificant compared to the performance increase.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away!

Pros: Low resource usage, small installer

Cons: This quarantined a lot of 'clean' system files, and totally missed picking up the infection on my PC. I had to then buy Kaspersky to clean PC up.

Other Thoughts: Look elsewhere...

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive

Pros: It is easy to install, has a simplified interface, and is very easy to use. It offers a host of features such as: Virus and Threat Removal, Antivirus Shield, Firewall and Identity/Privacy controls. Also available is a Web console that allows you to adjust/control the security settings for each of your SecureAnywhere installs.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: I'm still quite impressed with this security suite. When idle, it consumes less than 1MB of system resources. Scans are concluded in moments when compared to other security suites. This is a light weight, yet capable, security suite that is setting the standards for next generation security software.
