5 out of 5 eggsLike it.

Pros: Works great on my late 1011 MacBook Pro. Created a VM for Win7 64-bit. Loaded up and works seamlessly. Sorta like the VMware Workstation that on my PC. Incredibly low price for such a good product. Plan to load a Linux VM for database work soon.

Cons: Took a little getting used to on a Mac but that just my own learning. Was still intuitive enough for someone not real familiar with a Mac to be able to use it so not really a con.

Other Thoughts: Pretty good product. No complaints.

Pros: Says that it will run Windows seamlessly with OS X on a Mac.

Cons: Unbelievably bad customer service

(Review cont. from "Other thoughts") She said that she needed this information for the team or committee which was reviewing my "case" and that she was only collecting information, nothing else; and that she had no idea when they would decide on what to do.

Well, I hit the roof- I wrote back and told them that I was tired of having my veracity questioned on a matter which would have cost them ZERO dollars (or rupees, if you like). They are spending more money internally "investigating" me and my small problem than it would cost them to simply let me license either my disk copy or let me download a copy with a license key from their site. I wrote them back that i had no further interest in pursuing a matter that was worth no more money than a cheap dinner for two. It simply isn't worth my time. SO........the message here is that if you buy this product, and have a problem, they will do everything in their power to keep from having to help you.

Other Thoughts: I purchased the box copy of this product, and when it was time to install it, I discovered that there was no license key and registration in the box. I emailed VMware and explained the problem to them. The next day I got a very rude phone call from a woman in India who said that they were going to stop selling the package in retail stores and only sell it online because "customers kept losing the registration card" (not me, mine was never there) and that there was nothing that she could do for me. I wrote a followup email to VMware about their rude representative, an promptly receive an email from another woman in India who assured me that all would be made right. Today, I received another email from her asking that I (1) fax them a copy of the original invoice and receipt, and (2) attempt to raise the issue up the line at the merchant where I purchased it. (I think this is also know as "make somebody else pay for our mistake.) (See Cons for remainder of my review)

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Windows on a Mac without rebooting. Awesome! Also lets you use other OSes or VM clones.

Cons: Sometimes flaky.

Other Thoughts: If you have a Mac and need Windows this is a great choice. My wife runs Parallels so I can compare the two. Parallels seems a little more refined for the purpose of running Windows as the integration features are more seamless but if you want to run other operating systems this is your program. VMWare offers many excellent tools for converting existing machines to VMs which can run under Fusion. Put a PC on a flash drive and run it on your Mac. Also, unlike Parallels Fusion can run Windows programs from Launchpad which is cool. I knocked an egg since programs you don't want showing up in Launchpad are sometimes placed there and Fusion offers no way to remove them. Also I've had a few times when Fusion was flakey for no good reason but overall it has worked well.

4 out of 5 eggsGood program...

Pros: I like VMware Fusion 4 because it is faster than Parallels in my experience and allows easy migration of your pc unlike the free program called Virtual Box. Parallels and Virtual Box are good programs, I have just found Fusion 4 to be the best.

Cons: Bogs down computer when playing games, of course. I had to buy 8 more GB of ram for my iMac late '09.

Other Thoughts: I got the program for $29.99 as a black friday deal!
