KASPERSKY lab PURE Total Security - 3 PCs

Pros: Program itself is very good. It does slow down my older computer a bit.

Cons: Never received my $50 rebate! Be very careful. It smacks of untruthful advertising.

Pros: Good virus protection, updates regularly and has very effective firewall.

Cons: Rebate never came in mail. Got the exact same product.

Pros: Kaspersky makes good products, but...

Cons: Pretty Heavy, Stick to the plain old Kaspersky Antivirus (especially on older computers)

Pros: i have used almost every anti-virus out there from the top brands to some of the most popular free versions. for a few years now i have been using Kaspersky's software, and i have never regretted my decision yet. since i have been using Kaspersky....i have not been infected with a virus yet! i credit that to their live protection and virus scans. you cant beat this anti-virus for a few good reasons. the main reason that got my attention was the fact that Kaspersky doesn't bog down your system like Norton is bad for. i mean dont take me wrong Norton is a good anti-virus, but for me being an online gamer i needed an anti-virus that really worked and would not hog all my resources as it ran in the background. when i first switched to kaspersky i noticed a significant increase in performance over Norton. i really trust and feel comfortabel with kaspersky because you can expect to get several definition updates in just one day.

Cons: not found any

Other Thoughts: plus this software is very user friendly. even the least experienced computer person can install, run and monitor Kaspersky. on account of me being an online gamer i need live protection from the normal viruses along with protection against keyloggers and so on, and Kaspersky is EXCELLENT at this. i have recommended this suite to many people and have never had anyone disappointed with it. i cant give this software enough compliments.

Pros: Some security is better than none.

Cons: Rebate process doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: I've used Kaspersky before and have been happy with it. Honestly, I would have got a simpler version, but the rebate of $50 made this FREE. However, 2 months later, I am still waiting for the rebate to arrive. Rebate status on website still says processing. And, yes. I do know how to submit a rebate.

Pros: Could not find any too much of a pain to install

Cons: Tech support wasn't helpful at all, had many issues with installed programs, chat session hung up on me when I told them that I wasn't going to download the program when I already had the discs I have a limited download cap, when I did get it installed it would not stay connected to the update server they had to email me a better server to use it was 160 meg to update the program so why have the discs anyway and it took 2 hours to download as their servers were slow (verified with a speed test), the home network function is a joke even with windows 7 machines on a homegroup would not work or stay connected, noticed a marked slowdown on the computer gone after I uninstalled and the program also interfered with my wireless adapter connecting up or enabling for that matter that also went away after uninstall. Also it does not do a complete uninstall the program leaves a lot of pig tracks.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this I hear it is a good anti-virus engine but couldn't tell as the program had so many other issues that is was unusable and not worth the trouble also they have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced.

Pros: Unobtrusive to the point that I forget it is there. Has everything in one package: AV, backup, parental controls, password manager, data shredder, etc. Scans don't seem to affect system performance at all. The password manager is great for laptops where you want the convenience of stored passwords but don't want a thief to get access to your accounts. Passwords are protected by a master password that times out after a period of inactivity that you specify. Parental controls let you block by category (violence, adult content, illegal downloads, etc.) and also give you a usage history so you can see and block sites individually. Network control lets you administer other computers from a primary one--you can even initiate scans and updates.

Cons: Network control can make the program unresponsive for long periods (eventually becomes responsive again). Password manager requires a patch to be installed in order to work with Chrome and the latest version of some other browsers, but this is difficult to discover.

Other Thoughts: I have always been a user of free AV programs because they get good reviews with regard to detection rate and removal. However, the other features make me seriously consider renewing the license to this application when it expires, in particular the remote administration (despite the occasional unresponsiveness) and parental controls. WORD OF WARNING: If you are counting on the rebate to make this program worth buying, be aware that you will likely wait SEVERAL months from your date of purchase to receive it. Rebates typically take a long time (6-8 weeks) but expect it to go even longer. I am still waiting on mine over two months later and finally called to check the status and was told that I was approved but the check had not been cut yet. I trusted the word of their rep and didn't drop my rating for rebate nonpayment, but I think it is worth bringing up. The program is worth it even without the rebate, but it still reflects poorly if a company dangles a rebate then fails to pay.

Pros: Though, I have no knowledge of anti-virus and the level of security this product has given me however, I have yet to receive any viruses. Well worth it, if you can get a rebate!

Cons: November 16th is the day I mailed my rebate.
January 19th is today.
My rebate is still be waited on to this day.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy anti-virus with a rebate unless you are willing to wait 2+ months

Pros: Sorry, I can't think of anything positive.

Cons: I loved Kaspersky in the past because it was a compact, clean program that was easy to use. This software is their attempt at being all things to all people and now takes over your computer. After experiencing slow loading of web pages, long boot time, and random freezes I threw in the towel and uninstalled. I tried disabling each of the features but with nothing protected, why use it at all?

Other Thoughts: I have a two year old Dell PC with plenty of memory and Vista, and runs great otherwise. Perhaps it runs better on even newer, more powerful computer with different operating systems.

Pros: Antivirus - you need it!
Not as much of a resource hog as Norton
Runs mostly in the backround

Cons: It's only my first day using it so I don't know will update if I find any.

Other Thoughts: I already rated this a 1 but am now writing a new review because of the discovery of why my DVD drive quite working. When I went to install this I uninstalled Norton virus and popped this into the DVD rom drive and had to restart. When I booted back up I had no DVD rom drive. After restarting several times, disconnecting and reconnecting and even checking the DVD player in another computer I found out that it was a a class filter driver problem caused by the Un-installation of Norton and not because of the Kaspersky CD being in the drive on reboot. My bad Kaspersky or should I say Norton's bad? Anyway I'll update if anything goes wrong because of Kaspersky.
