KASPERSKY lab Anti-virus 2012 - 3 PCs

Pros: Works as well as the rest. Good data base.

Cons: Kaspersky 2012 needs a patch to use on Windows XP.
Otherwise, will lock out mouse function. Had to fix manuvering with arrow keys to allow external assistance.

Pros: Fast and Rarely see it when it is not needed,
Reliable got rid of viruses that other services didn't

Cons: none that i notice

Pros: It gets the job done. Clear my parent's PC of all the viruses on it. Worked very well.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: As stated in many other reviews, the mail in rebate takes quite awhile for it to be sent back. It's well worth the wait in my opinion.

Pros: Good antivirus overall, not a resource hog like its competitors. They have always made a respectable product.

Cons: Slow and unreliable rebate processor. Was denied rebate 40464 because they claim it was postmarked after the promotion period. It was purchased 11/30 and postmarked before 1/30. 3 stars removed for being cheated out of $25.

Other Thoughts: From January until now. 3 months. That's how long it takes their payment processor to mail out checks, or in my case, a denied notice.

Pros: i hope this product works i'm tyring it out cause of the rebate

Cons: can somebody plz tell how do i do the rebate i just got my Kaspersky anti-virus 2012

Pros: Version 2009 ran great for years on my older machine. They no longer support that version so I was forced to upgrade to 2012 which has more features and takes more resources.

Cons: Difficult to obtain refund from Kaspersky although 14 day money back is advertised on their web page. No responses to email support requests. 2012 is too bloated to run well on my older machine and I couldn't track down why it keeps accessing my internet every couple seconds which freaks out my firewall.

Pros: Worked for awhile

Cons: Wow, what horrible tech support. Hard to find tech support ph#, then the tech can do virtually nothing. Won't call back, Wont do Remote connection to troubleshoot. They can only stay on the phone for a few minutes then they "escalate" the issue & send an email in 24 to 48 hours.
Ineffective & unproductive for all concerned.

Pros: I did not see virus or other issues with Kaspersky installed.

Cons: When I tried to install dropbox, the system halts for ever. I had to uninstall both dropbox and Kaspersky, then install dropbox prior to the installation of Kasperky. The problem was solved and it took me several hours to find the solution.
Today one of my laptop has "corrupted" mouse drivers. Neither touch pad nor usb mouse function. The problem was gone after I uninstall Kaspersky. I could not imagine that Kaspersky had stopped the mouse! The only way to rescue my laptop is to reinstall the operating system if Kaspersky stops both mouse and keyboard.

Pros: Excellent detection rates and better at disinfection... better than other AV.

Cons: It could do a better job in the spyware area, but all AV is behind the ball in that area... it doesn't seem to be AV's priority for whatever reason. For now Malwarebytes will handle that job. My experience is different than others... I've used Kaspersky since 1996 (named AVP back then) and in recent years I think it's harder on resources than some other AV, but for the price of better protection I guess it's worth it... you have to make that call. Wish it was as light as Avira with the same excellent detection of Kaspersky.

Pros: Fast processing, lacks bloat ware found in other popular security suites

Other Thoughts: I have switched back and forth between this and Norton for the last few years. I was happy to see a rebate in place making this product free. Next year when my subscription expires I will not return to Norton.
