2 out of 5 eggsresource hog, poor support

Pros: This package has lots of functions – maybe more functionality than the average user needs.

Cons: 1) overloads my CPU to the extent that I cannot use the computer for the work I need to do
2) problems activating the application
3) problems updating the database

Other Thoughts: Kaspersky loses 3 eggs because of poor support. I emailed tech support several times seeking help with the problems I’m having with KIS 2013. Kaspersky sent automated replies with general suggestions which do not directly address the issues. I followed up with additional emails and the company continued to send the same automated replies. That is not support. That is sidestepping the responsibility to support the product it sells. Because of Kaspersky's foot dragging I have lost several weeks of the one year term of the license and I've been vulnerable to threats during this time.

1 out of 5 eggsWas working fine then it began to slow my system down

Pros: -Kept my system secure

Cons: -Yesterday I booted my pc with a 3570k OC'd to 4ghz and kapersky was using 98% of my cpu. I was able to get it back to normal but then today I booted up and it was using 60%. At that instant I deleted it and installed avast which I've used without trouble for years. I'm sure I could have fixed the problem but it's not worth my time considering I can get a better product for free. The second I uninstalled it and installed avast my pc was running at 6% cpu while scanning.

Other Thoughts: The software department of Kapersky need to step it up

1 out of 5 eggsxbox extender know problem

Pros: shuts down threats

Cons: They are aware of an issue with communication between your PC and a Xbox extender. When I called for customer assistance they could only email me a sheet with very little instruction on how to fix the problem. I follow directions line by line but it failed to fix the problem. Tech support would not help any more than sending the instructions.

Other Thoughts: Got this on special for only $10 and still feel ripped off. un install!

3 out of 5 eggsBulky

Pros: Keeps Computer Safe. Bought it on sell.

Cons: Replaced Norton that came preloaded on my hp sleekbook. Before I removed Norton and installed Kaspersky my load time was faster. Now I have longer boot time and system locks up alot since install.

Other Thoughts: Will try to put up with it for a year to get my money out of it. Then i will do a fresh reinstall of my o/s and stick with preloaded norton.

5 out of 5 eggsProactive in prevention

Pros: Proactive in stopping malware, virsuses, and bad URLs while browsing and opening emails. Really one of the best if not the best security suites you can buy.

Cons: Lots of choices. Interface isn't easy to understand for novices.

Other Thoughts: I've been using Kaspersky for 5 years on my four computers. I won't use anything else. Anyone who says that it slows there computer down has processor problems or needs to clean their hard drive. Kaspersky is easy on resources.

1 out of 5 eggsBogs the machine down way too much for daily use.

Pros: Keeps the PC clean, but what good is it if it slows your PC down to the point that you think you would be living with a virus? Too bad because Kaspersky had a great product back in the Windows XP days. I had a free two year Norton Virus come pre-loaded on my new laptop which has worked quit well compared to the older versions. The point is that there are programs out there working just as well that cost nothing. The days of having to pay for a great anti virus program are gone....Kaspersky RIP

Cons: From Kaspersky 2011 and on, things got really bad with this program being a resource hog. Perhaps now a days this is why they sell it for so much less, as people quit using it. It will drive you crazy to have it on for daily use. Save yourself the bucks and go for the free Microsoft Windows Essentials. Some of the greatest things in life are FREE!

Other Thoughts: Perhaps if a virus could make it through the free version of Microsoft Essentials then you could buy the program and try to remove it, though now a days hard drive to hard drive (or in the cloud) back up is so cheap that most people can swap out their restored image.

3 out of 5 eggskaspersky Internet Security 2013 Opinion

Pros: Easy install and removal, nice structure, practical applications, fairly quick human support.

Cons: Kaspersky's site has mixed advertisements. I read that it fully supports windows 8 so I bought it. While it supports windows 8, meaning that it functions on windows 8 OS, there are some five or six functions that are grayed out and do not function. So compared to other Kaspersky types, this one does not fully support windows 8.

Other Thoughts: You can buy Kaspersky anti virus in various forms at good bargain prices if you keep your eyes opened to it.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid as always

Pros: Was time to renew my license, & what timing it was. Happened to take a peak on the Egg & poof, found this on sale on a late night Shell Shocker, $14. Can't beat that when the regular price was $60.

Previously had been running Kaspersky Pure 2.0, but it had way more features than I needed, so grabbed this when it was on sale instead. Does it's job exceedingly well. And for the $14 I paid when I caught it on sale, you can't get any better.

Cons: Not a chance.

Other Thoughts: Have been running Kaspersky for about 8 years now, after dumping the resource hungry, junk ware loaded N**ton. Kaspersky is by far one of the best, if not THE best out there. Never, ever had an issue with it, or ever gotten any type of infection, malware, anything.

Overall it runs pretty light. Not a huge resource hog like some other well known security suites.

Easy to install. Default settings are good to go for what most need. For the less technically advanced, it's easy to learn & adjust for your needs. For the money, great software that provides great protection.

Firewall quickly & easily learns your habits & learns what games you may like to run, so it can allow proper access. When it comes to stopping phishing hackers & such, it's right on the spot. Immediate pop-up warns you of the hack attempt, & can be set to automatically ban the attempted intruders IP address for life. If you are browsing the net, & happen to click a banner, or go to a page that is unsafe, Kaspersky tells you. Doing Google, Yahoo, other various types of searches, it automatically tags search results to let you know which are potentially hazardous & may contain possible viruses, etc. Absolutely no need to worry about clicking on a link, as the Kaspersky software is already way ahead of you, to protect you from hazards on the web, or in your email. Think of it as a babysitter in the background watching over you while you surf, that you rarely if ever notice is even there.

For those of us who do a lot of online shopping, Kaspersky uses a Virtual Keyboard feature to protect all your passwords, credit card numbers, & other various personal info. Makes it easy to shop & not ever have to worry about who may get your info. Kaspersky has your back at all times.

Add in the banner blocker, email scanner, parental control settings to limits your kids time online, & a few other features I haven't mentioned, Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 has you covered from top to bottom. For us gamers, "Gamer" mode is an awesome feature. It limits how much resources & cpu power can be used by Kaspersky while you are gaming. You can also adjust Kaspersky in the settings to run silently, meaning it will utilize minimal cpu power when other applications are running, so there are no worries of your system being bogged down when you are gaming & Kaspersky does an update. Everything keeps running silky smooth. You'll never even know it updated, or ran a scheduled system scan with silent mode. Speaking of updates, Kaspersky is on the ball. Several updates daily to keep you fully up to date & safe.

HIGHLY recommend Kaspersky to anyone needing Security on your PC, tablet, or even your smart phone. Easy to setup, easy to use, rock solid protection. If you need new security software, or just want to change, Kaspersky is your answer.

If you ever have questions or issues, Kaspersky Support is also great to work with. Quick to respond to your questions, & extremely knowledgeable.
