Symantec Norton Antivirus 2012 1 User

Pros: I always use Norton Products and to me this is the best Anti virus program around.

Cons: No Cons

Pros: none sorry to say norton and mcafee just a name

Cons: Computer was running real slow so a Friend Ran a eset online scanner and it found 5 infections one of which was a worm virus and also ran malwarebytes and it found 62 spyware and virus infections. Scan your computer with them and you might be surprised on what the big dog name antivirus guys miss.

Other Thoughts: I uninstalled it after these misses and installed something better.

Pros: I've used Norton products, alone side competing products for quite a few years and nothing has offered the level of protection of Norton.

Cons: None.

Pros: No problems installing to 64 bit windows, the UI looks good and is very friendly.

Cons: None yet.

Pros: Norton gets what other's don't. Don't get the 360 or Internet Security version. Those will slow your machine down. This basic version is all you need and does not use up many resources.

Cons: -SLOW! Brings the computer to an absolute crawl! I know the fanboys are all "Norton has been better in recent years!" but it's complete bologna. Tear Norton off a computer and suddenly it screams.
If the speed issues aren't enough, then the tightness of the security is. They take the stance of "don't trust the user" to the extreme while malicious software disguised as system processes get passed off as perfectly clean when even AVG notices something is up and takes care of it.
If the software isn't bad enough, the company makes it it even worse. Symantec has been absolutely awful to work with! Their support is almost nonexistant, and if you loose product key you're better off buying a new one than trying to recover it and even if you do, Symantec will think you're loading it on more computers than you're supposed to and deactivate it.
Absolutely horrible! Would not recommend!

Or, more accurately, I would not wish this horror upon even my worst enemies.
I use Kaspersky on my main computer and usually recommend Security Essentials.

Listed this on an auction website, no one's bought it.
I wish Newegg would have taken $40 off of the item this came with instead of throwing in this worthless garbage. I guess they just have so many of them they don't know what to do with it and they can't take it back to Symantec because Symantec is impossible to work with

Reliable on win7 64 without issue
rapid, reliable updates, well vetted before release. - Important.

Cons: Price-y, except when on sale or OEM pkgs

Other Thoughts: works well. or try AV(a)ST for freehome use. I use NAS for work and for home when I can catch NAS on cheap. And I do other things to secure my computer ... :) so, AV is quite enough.

Pros: Installed easily enough.. I installed it on my brothers computer that hadn't had any protection in a long while and it found 82spyware + 3 trojans in its first sweep on safe mode.. It's still been finding stuff since.

Cons: None ATM.. It runs without hogging much rescourses you wont even know its there.

Other Thoughts: Good buy for $10
