Pros: It works fast and takes up little resources.
Cons: It let malware into my system within the first month. I was using Avast for a long time and decided to get this because of the reviews online. Big mistake. I downloaded a freeware video converter program from download.com, (which I normally don't do because of the threat of malware but hey I had Norton installed). Norton said the file was good. Next thing I know it's installing something extra even when I unchecked all the bloatware check boxes that most programs come with now. After trying to close or cancel the install it still installed malware. Every one of my browsers were hijacked and had a toolbar that I didn't authorize to be installed and other stuff in my add remove programs as well. Of course Norton couldn't remove the hijacked browser files. I finally decided to wipe my system and do a fresh install. Never again will I buy Norton, I stayed away for years and will now stay away permanently!!!
Other Thoughts: Sometimes free is just better!

Rating: 3/5Best AV for $10
Pros: Only paid $9.99 for it.
Does it's job.
Has some fetures.
Includes an optional extension for chrome to check web sites and scan link/downloads.
Doesn't slow down my PC like previous versions of Norton did.
Cons: Not as good as elegant as Kaspersky, and doesn't protect at the same level either...
Other Thoughts: Well, for it's current price ($9.99) Not much else can beat it, probably the best bang for your buck. I would not pay full price for it however.

Rating: 5/5Know how to use it, before complaining
Pros: Too busy to write long, so today say just this much:
To me was one of the several AV utilities years ago, then one day a disastrous event happened @work hundreds of miles away from home, due to their (work) network spreaiding EXTREMELY sophisticated virus. I did it all - I was losing my machine in front o fmyh eyes slowly descending into infectious chaos, I finally recovered 99.9% of it by meticulous exiting Windows & using NortonAV in command-prompt ("DOS"-like_ mode, only Norton saved my CAD worklaptop, some "heavy duty" tool included w/Norton which only is effective OUTSIDE Windows, saved me from hell, I am serious. Been using NAV since 2007 when got it by an accident (someone suggested + my research), LONG TIME & I keep upgrading to next year everyyear, despite a large number of "Norton "opposers")
Cons: NOT a "con" per se, instead a MESSAGE to all you who complain "Norton used to be good, now it's not blah...." It's a complex powerful software (& not cheap or free, unlke some competing "toys') - many & difficult to understand settings. Requires certain skills to set settings properly, there're NUMEROUS settings which when mis-configured will cause all that you people complain - loading down computer's resources, impossible to uninstall/disable, etc. PLEASE learn, be skillful & understand howto use stuff, before complaining. I've been on it since 2007, also skeptical in the beginningbut a few events convinced me only NAV was able to cleanup my client's machines.
Other Thoughts: There's one powerful suggestion I tell everyone:
DO PAIR it with PCtool's "Spyware Doctor" The two softwares complement each other, NAV's core business is antivirus DESPITE its claims to add "AntiSpyware", likewise PCtools' "SpywareDoctor" core biz. is AntiSpyware, not Antivirus as they claim to add, so you should get BOTH these programs & run first NAV, then SpywareDoc, that's a good method tobe sure you're clean. NAV won't catch certain spyware, and SpywareDoc won't approach NAV in virus dept., so use BOTH one after another (if you value your data!).
I cannot post some "lengthy manual" for the following in Reviews section of "Newegg", but remember there's a certain powerful utility within NortonAV that (@least I used) outside Windows will chew & destroy any very/powerful/invasive virii, which won't be ffective inside WIndows b/c Antivirus software but its nature is very special & runs in "abnormal" memory areas, how tod that I can't spent time explaining, but it is what saved me a few years back on some dreary night when I witnessed my filesystem being devoured by a virus from work network. I never NEVER was or will get infected at home, b/c I know computers welll... it's just some mobile worksites that give you a router, a network & you can get nasty invaders..;. NortonAV saved me.

Rating: 1/5Norton is not worth buying
Pros: Norton used to be good... about two decades ago
Cons: As a IT Pro, I get many computers for malware cleanup everyday. At least half have Norton software as its sole protection and costumers think that they are being protected when paid for Norton - wrong. Sadly even free MSE does better job on Malware front.
Other Thoughts: Symantec has a great research staff and I wish their developers are on that level. If your development is driven by sales hungry marketing dept, your customers experience will suffer.

Rating: 5/5Norton Anti-virus
Pros: Good, Reliable, AV Software. Catches tracking cookies and other annoying bugs. Has a "heavy duty" removal program in case you get something invasive. (I have never had to use it.) I have used this software for more than 5 years.
Cons: Norton software subscriptions are getting more expensive every year.
Other Thoughts: I usually buy the Single User version, on sale. Not TOO much of a sale this year, but there is a 100% rebate of the sale price.
