Pros: Does a good job. Never got a virus and have been using it for almost 10 years and I go to all the flakey websites. Got it on sale "egg blast " for 10 bucks. Will install new version rather than pay the 50 bucks to Norton for the upgrade on my older version for another year
Cons: To the guy on 5/19 that wrote "Cons: takes up a lot of resources, takes much longer to scan an entire computer/server by approx. 3-4 hours longer." You must be doing something wrong or your computer is out of date or has tons of bloat ware on it. Scans my PC in 20 minutes. You should try an reinstall it.
Other Thoughts: Can;t beat the $10.00 for sale price.

Pros: Low profile on my Win 7 x64 system. When idle, doesn't even show 1% usage on Performance Monitor. Automatically performs tasks when computer has been idle for a time, which during my time with the product has performed flawlessly. Easy to use interface. White-listing folders & blocking applications from network is a breeze compared to similar products I've used. Ability to save configurations for all of your computers in a cloud backup. Has a web browser addon that is actually low profile as well. Other AV I've used tend to take control of your browsing experience & ruin many addons of mine. This has yet to cause problems with using Chrome/Firefox.
Cons: Popup that comes up from time to time requesting that you backup the configuration of your current machine on the cloud. Doesn't interfere with fullscreen programs but is annoying to have pop up while doing anything else on the PC. I have yet to find a setting where I can turn this off.
Other Thoughts: Tried a handful of other paid AV software before deciding on this. Some of them the features wouldn't work, others would cause major performance instability. I actually hated Norton AV software about 5 yrs ago because of the huge resource hog it was back then, but they've come along way and I'm happy to support a company that has listened to its supporters. They've really created a very well rounded AV now.

Rating: 2/5who knew Norton was still alive.
Pros: does the job? kind of? Have only used it to check files/detect viruses while im surfing the web.

Other Thoughts: there are honestly many better alternatives than Norton.
