1 out of 5 eggsReson for low ratings on Win 8 reviews

Pros: Useable

Cons: It is obvious that M* is pushing their software towards the toy touch screen models that they now sell. M* has always used it's near monopoly to force the public to accept any direction that they choose. I heard they even bought or tried to buy the rights to L**** as it was coming on so strong as a great alternative to the dreaded M*S's tyrannical policy of "Let them eat cake"

Other Thoughts: Well as I said in the title. In my opinion why Win8 is getting so many low reviews is: "IT SUCKS"

Pros: It's easier for touch screens.

Cons: I'm not a fan of the Metro interface. But whatever. Over time I'll get used to it I suppose.
The huge problem I have is Microsoft's price points on all their licensing. Are they trying to price themselves out of business? $100 for standard Win8. $140 for Win8 Pro. Should be $50 and $70 in my opinion. It's not like your getting that much in Pro. But to really pee on the heads of business to insure that no one uses this junk in the work place they charge $100 to upgrade. $50 for their current price point seems more than fair. $30 for standard to pro would be if they were operating at my price point.
Licensing gets even stranger when you get into the server market.
All this makes selling Linux a whole lot easier. Linux is more compatible with older Windows software than Windows 8.
I'm really not impressed that i'm going to have to req my boss to drop another $100 on every machine preinstalled with Win8 just so they can connect to a domain. In the year 2013 and Microsoft doesn't include this feature in their base product and still holds it for ransom.

1 out of 5 eggswindows 8 sucks.

Pros: Cool commercials.

Cons: Windows 8 sucks. Don't do. Just say no. Unless you have a touch screen, no good can come from windows 8. I'm sorry I bought it.

5 out of 5 eggsWin 8 Pro - Best OS ever

Pros: I love Bitlocker part of Win 8 Pro. I can encrypt all my external hard drives/flash drives/SD cards to secure my data and use them any other machines that have Windows. All I have to do is enter my password when opening the drives, very secured, and I’m not afraid of others accessing my data even when I lost the drives/cards.

For those Windows haters/Mac lovers, grow-up and use your time to do something else useful for mankind. If you hate Windows, you shouldn’t leave your feedback as you’re not using Windows at all, so your feedbacks are useless.

Cons: I'm still trying to get used to the new UIs in Windows 8. Other than that I think Windows 8 is the best OS from Microsoft

1 out of 5 eggsBuy a Mac

Pros: None discernible.

Cons: Do NOT waste your time with this operating system. It now costs less to get a Mac with a cleanly designed interface and reasonably bug-free software and hardware. An extra hundred buck just to join a domain? Up yours.

1 out of 5 eggsOK, enough is enough. Grow up Microsoft.

Pros: Runs OK.

Cons: Will you PLEASE for the love of humanity stop using O 0 B 8 I 1 etc in Keycodes. Or use a decent font that is legible. You would think that after all these years Microsoft would have figured this out. At least put all the alphabet in lowercase, then the numbers in upper case. Are you guys that stupid? I don't think so. I think you do it just because you like being jerks.

Other Thoughts: Interface is hard to get used to for a "Professional" version. A "Professional" version should not need the weather and MSNBC crud all over their work computer. Sadly, Microsoft thinks changing the interface on software is clever. It's not. How would they like it if Toyota switched the brake and gas pedals on some models? They would think Toyota is out to get them. Bingo, take a hint.

1 out of 5 eggsPurely disgusting

Pros: A few useful upgrades... But you would expect that with a new OS.

Cons: Cons? Well I'm not sure if I have enough time or space.

Basically I think it comes down to two things:
1. Microsoft is scared dungless that they will be locked out forever on phones and tablets (and with very good reason), so they want use their near OS monopoly to shove their tablet/phone interface down desktop/laptop user's throats.

2. The Start screen's default interface is dominated by Metro/Modern/Windows Modern Apps/Windows Store Apps tiles-with the expectation that they can tie people into their store.

And ANY pretense of "ease", "logic", "usability", "productivity", etc. is most certainly NOT in Microsoft's interest. Their only goal is shoving this moronic dung down the public's throats.

Other Thoughts: There is no possible way a company that didn't have a near monopoly could get away with dung like this. They would be out of business in a matter of days. And Microsoft DESERVES to go out of business because of Win8!

2 out of 5 eggsKey did not work

Pros: Seemed like a good idea at the time

Cons: The media key I bought did not work. not sure why but every time I try to update my win pro 8 and add the media center it says " invalid product key". I feel like I just lost 70 dollars
