5 out of 5 eggsGreat! Easy to Use!

Pros: I was browsing a site called Tek-Micro when I first read about it.

I now own it and I love the accessibility it gives me and the ease of it's use.

PowerPoint 2013, in particular helps me with my presentations to different clients as I am in the headhunting business. Office Pro 2013 will always be a part of my day.

Cons: none that i can think of so far

1 out of 5 eggsAlternatives available

Pros: Thanks for the objective reporting, helping me to save my money.

Cons: From what I've read I'm definitely not moving "up?" to this version.

Other Thoughts: Please reconsider WordPerfect, along with OpenOffice et. al. WordPerfect has been around for many, many years, and is easier (in my opinion) than MS Office. I'm keeping my WordPerfect and MS Office 2010. The reveal codes feature is one that can save a lot of time. You still get an install disc, and all documents can be saved in native WordPerfect .wpd format or MS Word .docx format, along with many others, including legacy programs.

1 out of 5 eggsActivation Nightmare

Pros: None!

Cons: If you are setting up multiple computers for different clients this is a nightmare. You have to have a separate email account for each one. Don't think about using your client's which would make it possible for him to reinstall it if he needs to because there is an activation code sent to that account. The amount of hoops to activate this triples your time. You have your email address showing up in front of the clients open pages in office. Don't even try calling them! I finally went in and was able to delete the account showing up. A process that should take 5 minutes took 45min!!!!!!!

I still don't know in the future if the client will have trouble if he needs to reinstall since my email acct was used (No other way of doing it.) You need to do this crazy process for each workstation!!! I had 5. Get 2010 while you can. It's time to stop using Office since MS is out of touch with many of it's client's.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for 365

Pros: This version of outlook works fine with the new 365 service from Godaddy whereas 2010 has connection problems. The rest of the apps work well also. I don't understand the hatred.

Cons: Have to create MS account to install.

1 out of 5 eggsInexcusable install process

Pros: Fulfills the technical requirements of users - word processing, collaboration, etc.

Runs and is supported, suitable for replacing unsupported or soon-to-EOL versions of MS Office

Cons: The "online-enabled" install process for this product is either a joke or an insult. The user (or administrator) is required to visit an MS Office website and not only enter a product key, but tie the product to a Microsoft account as well, in order to complete the installation.

The ability to download and burn a disc image of the installer is hamstrung by the association of the image with a unique product key.

Seemingly gone are the days of maintaining a single CD/DVD image to deploy to domain PCs with an installer prompting for a product key and then requiring no further online activity.

Other Thoughts: I'm ready to seriously consider Free/Open-Source alternatives to MS Office (e.g. LibreOffice) if this is going to be the direction of future iterations of the product.

If Microsoft customer-relations staff are reading this, I and many others are extremely (and the word "extremely" is an understatement) dissatisfied with your product. The reason we are dissatisfied is that you are attempting to force us to link Office installs with web accounts and cloud services. We do not want this, we do not welcome this, we do not like this and we will think twice before paying you money in the future if you continue to insist.

Do not lie to your managers and say that SkyDrive/OneDrive is "not mature enough yet", or that the "Office 2013 user interface could use some tweaks", or that there's "not as much demand" for some element of it. Microsoft Office 2013's online install process is threatening to hurt your business. It is as plain and as simple as that.

The quality of the component programs doesn't even enter into the equation in my mind. Office 2013 Home and Business is, due solely to its absolute disgusting failure of an installer, a terrible product. Do not buy unless you have no other choice, and think very, very hard about whether you really might have another choice.

5 out of 5 eggsgood stuff

Pros: I've used all Office versions and know what to expect with every upgrade. This one's pleasantly surprising.

Cons: I don't like the fact that you need to sign in with a Live account just to access the download your purchased. As the description says, this is just the serial number. Fine, but when you take this to a client site, you have to sign in with a Live account and if they already have their Hotmail signed in, then you don't want to sign them out, or explain to them the number is associated with their Live account, or just have a bunch of numbers associated with your own account....you see where I'm going with this? Why associate at all? Leave association optional as you do after Office is installed. Ok, that's my only gripe.

1 out of 5 eggsThe worst installation process ever.

Pros: Compatible with previous file types. Works better with touch.

Cons: Installation sucks for system builders and IT techs. The application must be permanently tied to an email address and Microsoft Live account. Gee, let me just create an email address and Live account for every pc and then track that information forever. I have nothing better to do with my time than spend an extra 20 minutes jumping through Microsoft hurdles to prove I am not counterfeiting their software. Who is paying for my lost time? This is ridiculous in a business environment. Yeah make it harder for the honest people, there's a good plan!

The White, white, or white interface choices suck.

Other Thoughts: This is the first Microsoft Application / Suite I have ever hated.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat do you expect?

Pros: The product is exactly as described. Activates without issue.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you don't like the product, don't buy it. And don't give it bad reviews just because you don't like the look and feel. You should have researched the product before you bought it. If you don't like the way that Microsoft is deploying and packaging their product, guess what? You don't have to buy it. The IT market is constantly changing and those who whine and don't adapt are the ones who get left behind. Apache Openoffice is free and might be better suited for you.

4 out of 5 eggsThese Reviews are bogus

Pros: Nothing I would say that stands out, lot's of little things. The ability to install apps in Office (like everything these days). The linking of the various parts of office continues and I like it. OneNote is outstanding and anybody who wants a flexible database should look at OneNote. I use it heavily and have turned on many clients to it. Microsoft has made the app version free for a long time for all platforms, that should tell you something. And if you network through SharePoint you don't ever have to worry about storing it on another companies server and crossing your fingers they don't get broken into (Evernote, Snapchat, Adobe, Facebook, I could go on).

Cons: The new default theme. White, Light Grey, Dark Grey. Suuuuccckkksssss! Not sure what crack addict at Microsoft thought it looked good

Other Thoughts: I have never seen such a bunch of garbage from these reviews. Get off of the Microsoft hating bandwagon. Either people have know idea how to install software or they're lying shill for some other company. This is not a subscription, you own it. Office 365 is the subscription. You create a Microsoft account. Big whoop. Like Apple makes you create an Apple ID. And Google requires you to create a Gmail account for Android. Please, give me a break. I have installed this hundreds of times for clients. The paid and subscriptions and never had a single issue.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't even consider buying this

Pros: A tempting upgrade when the *entire* Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013 suite can be bought for LESS than a copy of Outlook 2010...

Cons: An expensive mistake when you want out, and discover that a copy of Outlook 2010 costs more than the *entire* Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013 suite!

Other Thoughts: The perfect companion to Windows 8. That's not a compliment.
