- Significant lag
- Invisible text entry
- unexpected crashes / hangs
- Often unable to save until you attempt to close a word document
- Excel is unbelievably slow (worse than before)
- Arrangement of graphical errors and display bugs
- Changing tabs (e.g. "Home", "Insert", "Page Layout", etc.) is extremely slow and unresponsive

On Windows
- Not as many issues as on mac, but still notably slow with several issues regarding graphical bugs and lag time

Other Thoughts: I own every type of Operating system and I have used countless word processors. Microsoft used to posses the best software on the market, but have since taken a massive step down. Even though Apple is a competing company, that is no excuse to put out shoddy software. There are far too many issues with this new release. I thought it was El Capitan (Which is certainly not bug-free), but most of the issues that other users were noting were not occurring on my system. In fact, El Capitan has been fairly decent. The only issues I am having relate to the terrible Microsoft Office version. I have been a long time-subscriber and I will be looking in to Libre Office, assuming I can find a suitable cloud service for it. The only leg up Microsoft has at this point is their synergy. For the time being, Google Docs seems to do the trick pretty well.

Consider yourself warned. If you have El Capitan, do not get Office 365 for mac. It is quite literally the most bug-ridden production software I have ever used. If you can't get Office 365 2106, then you should be good. The previous edition of Office 365 on Mac is actually really stable, but that's even more reason to be discontent with the new iteration. You can't put out solid software only to take 15 steps backwards on the next version.

Pros: Older versions are better.

Cons: The 2016 Outlook interface (view) is very cluttered and cannot be customized. The Outlook profile cannot be customized and the Office install cannot be customized. Other Office suite products expect user to memorize all the icons and hidden arrows - just plain dysfunctional and will probably change - I rather memorize something more valuable than, for example, how to print a page. Older versions were just fine. This version takes more clicks just to do basic stuff or navigate.

Other Thoughts: Upgrading is needed in order to open others' files. But I am thinking to just convert and/or print to PDF to save - then I no longer have to upgrade to share info.

Other Thoughts: The bad thing is that I had an old version of office (2003) that I used for work and when I was having issues downloading office 365, one of the support team members was remote accessing my computer to figure out what was wrong and told me they thought the problem was the old version of office and that it needed to be deleted before I could install the new version. Needless to say, now I don't have either version, because I have know idea where the old disc is. and Microsoft still can't get office365 software to load.

Pros: Ordering thru NewEgg went fine - product code worked for download, etc.

Cons: Microsoft procedural steps UNCLEAR - if you have a prior differant version, be sure to UNINSTALL before loading the new version, otherwise your old version will stay active until they lock you out. Then you have to deal with the Microsloth helpless desk (which I have been talking to for the past day and a half with no resolution)

Other Thoughts: Product is okay, but DO ALL YOU CAN TO ENSURE A CLEAN INSTALLATION BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT GET GOOD HELP THROUGH THEIR SERVICE DESK

Other Thoughts: I have now gotten use to most of the new settings from Microsoft but I still have a long way to go. My suggestion is to stick with it, and it will grow on you. I ordered mine on line and it was very secure and easy to down load. I shared with my sister and after the security stuff she was up and running in now time.

Pros: good product, economical way to stay with the latest software

Cons: don't order from newegg if you are in a hurry - I ordered the download expecting to get a key in minutes, but did not get one until the next morning. they needed to verify address on the credit card used - no indication that such a delay might exist. strange, since I order frequently from newegg with the same credit card and address information.

Bottom line: get directly from Microsoft or elsewhere if you need the key immediately.

Pros: All the useful Office programs are included, including Publisher. Install on five computers plus mobile devices for less than the usual upfront cost of a single Office Home & Student license makes it very affordable.

Cons: Annual subscription charge - it makes it all more affordable up front, but over the five-year life of a typical computer it will cost more than double what a home/student Office suite usually costs. This con doesn't apply if you have several computers that you want to install it on - that still winds up being a savings.

Other Thoughts: Newegg totally hosed me on this one. I needed the program RIGHT NOW and so chose the downloadable product. Only after the transaction was complete did I learn that the download can be delayed for 48 hours. Newegg online chat support told me there was nothing they could do to speed it up, couldn't tell me exactly when I'd get my product key, and wouldn't do a refund because I had "purchased software". I turned around and bought it from a competitor and had it downloaded and running within an hour. 24 hours later I got my useless second product key from Newegg. Maybe if I get five more computers it will come in handy. And another shot at the Egg - this is not my first review. Somehow the first one didn't get published. We'll see if this one makes it.

Pros: Good install implementation, nice built-in PC license management tool, love being able to have two Excel windows open side by side, nice integration with SkyDrive and online Office tools, the perfect app set for my needs, blows the “free” office products out of the water

Cons: Minor: perplexed about Contact Groups not being available when connecting through Outlook.com (EAS), but there are workarounds

Other Thoughts: Office continues to improve (Microsoft finally realizing “Home” users like Outlook too) and I love the options 365 offers. I use it regularly across several machines and 365 meets that need very well. I really like the option where 1 year of Xbox Live Gold was included with the purchase. ‘nuff said, now I’ll get back to using it…
