5 out of 5 eggshard to beat.

Pros: win 7 pro is the only choice for an office network.

Cons: Ships with out dated drivers. Relies on windows update which won't run obviously if network driver does not exist for newer hardware.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat is Newegg Doing?

Pros: Windows 7-64 Pro OEM is still the very best choice even for new System Builds while MS is sorting out their Win8 demons...

So Why isn't Newegg Stocking this right now?

Cons: Maybe not quite as fast as Win8.1, maybe not quite as secure as well...

I'll take my chances...

Other Thoughts: There are so few out there liking Windows 8 so Newegg, do whatever it takes to get Windows 7-64 Pro OEM back in stock for us!

5 out of 5 eggsThe last great OS?

Pros: With all the other reviews, do I need to say more?

Cons: Still costs way more then Windows 8!

Other Thoughts: Would be cheaper for me to just buy 3 packs and use them up as I build computers for customers. But, I am hoping the price will eventually drop once Windows 8 comes out..and I am still waiting. Supply and Demand?

5 out of 5 eggsIt's windows 7 Professional

Pros: Like a previous poster, I bought this at 80 bucks, but that item quickly sold out with a status of 'coming soon' and a 5 star rating with 524 reviews that you can no longer see. I bought two copies, wish I would have bought the maximum of 5. Got two builds this week. At 80 bucks I would have just installed in on my Sony laptop, fresh install, as opposed to the home premium that was on it, as it is, I had to do the anytime upgrade which was a bit more...

Cons: when a deal like this comes along, you can't be asleep.

Other Thoughts: I slogged through Window 8 pre release for almost a year. I just couldn't even muster up a like for it on a desktop. I understand what they were thinking, but it sure feels like that left out the desktop PC users with that one. I'll stick with XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro.

5 out of 5 eggsBest OS from Microsoft

Pros: I got this on sale for $80, Item# N82E16832116992.
It's not Windows 8 or 8.1 (tablet OS)
Windows 7 Pro the best OS from Microsoft.

Cons: I can't write my review on the link that I bought this from, its says "Newegg.com does not accept product reviews for prerelease items. Thanks for your understanding." I won't be a Verified Owner for this review.

Other Thoughts: I bought a laptop with windows 8 so I've decided to upgrade to Windows 7 (YES YOU READ IT RIGHT ). I I tried the windows 8.1 preview and decided that i have to buy more windows 7 before we are all force to buy Windows 8.1 garbage. This is my 2nd Windows 7 OEM pro from newegg. The first one I bought in 2011. I am glad this OS is still available and hope it will be available for my future builds. It's supported till 2020.

5 out of 5 eggsThe only good alternative to Windows 8 for me

Pros: Reliable, fast, stable, fantastic driver support, everything just works.

Cons: Microsoft is trying desperately to replace the best operating system they've ever released with one that has a clunky, non-optional smartphone interface. Microsoft refers to the desktop paradigm that has served us so well for so long as "legacy," indicating that the future they envision is a Windows 1.0-like interface where we can put up to four (woohoo!) "apps" on our displays. Thanks for nothing, Microsoft.

Other Thoughts: In the Wintel world of computing, this is the only good alternative to the Windows 8 / 8.1 train wreck. In my opinion, If you want a real OS (for a real computer) and don't care to have Microsoft's childish smartphone interface and "apps" on your production machines, this is the one to get.
