2 out of 5 eggsBad Disc

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit

Pros: Activation code was valid:)
Other than that, it's Windows...

Cons: The disc I received must have been corrupted when written. Tried 2 computers, fresh install on newly formatted drives without luck. Downloaded the ISO from Microsoft and create a bootable USB and installation went perfect.

4 out of 5 eggsVery old

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit

Pros: A licensed copy of Windows 7 64 bit operating system. Not much more that you can say about it.

Cons: This copy of windows 7 required the installation of 195 updates from Microsoft which makes me think that it has been sitting on the shelf for awhile.

Other Thoughts: This copy of windows 7 appears to be quite old. When I installed it Microsoft indicated that it was significantly out of date and immediately suggested that it was a pirated copy. Once I got my network card installed then I was able to validate the serial number but I had to install a bunch of updates before the operating system was ready to go. All's well that ends well so I am happy with the purchase.

1 out of 5 eggsBad software

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit

Pros: CD Key Works

Cons: Software disc will not finish install it will load but not get past Completing setup tried it three times same result. Checked my equipment all good so I downloaded a copy of
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit and it installed without a hitch. Used the CD Key and it activated. My problem is that I wanted a hard copy for the build

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time trying to install this software all that works is the key.
Now I know why there was no warranty on this software Live And Learn

2 out of 5 eggsDo NOT get OEM if regular windows user

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit

Pros: Its windows 7

Cons: Its sold exactly the same way as retail. i didnt know the difference just bought cheaper. if you lose the disc you will never legally get another installation media for this OEM version. microsoft doesnt support it. newegg is acting sort of as a system builder with these OEM versions but not providing any way to get a copy. microsoft doesnt have one for you either as they stopped providing OEM isos in feb 2015.

Other Thoughts: Ive spent around 2000 dollars at newegg. this situation has me feeling okie doked. newegg gets these OEM versions for super cheap and selling them as if there is no difference(description is literally copy/pasted.)between retail and oem. if you have a retail CD key you can type it into the microsoft site and out pops your iso. they dont give any for OEMS

5 out of 5 eggsReally like it as a long time user of XP

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit

Pros: I upgraded my Lenovo T61 laptop with an SSD and Windows 7. I used the Microsoft Upgrade advisor to make sure the laptop would handle Windows 7. Installation on the brand new SSD went very quickly and smoothly. This OS is highly similar. I recently bought a PC with 8.1 and it is horrible. Even the "XP Desktop" mode is a bear. Stick with Windows 7
