1 out of 5 eggsMicroS Customer Support is completely Deplorable

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Pros: When my hard drive wasn't corrupt and crashing and finally died; it worked as well as an operating system could. Quick boot times, .net framework can be annoying with certain softwares compatibility issues

Cons: *******MICROSOFT ITSELF******

Before today, i really had no quarrels with Microsoft. I have always liked the windows platform aside from some of their O.S's that turned out to just be butchered, unstable wrecks. But all in all i personally thought windows 7 ultimate was a huge improvement over vista, a system which i had avoided entirely after trying it on one of my builds with an ugly turnout (i stuck with XP till 7 came out). But today i contact microsoft customer support because my OCZ SSD was corrupt and finally just encountered fatal errors; not even showing up as a hard drive/peripheral/bootable media. So i tell them my problem and how i can no longer find my install disk, it had been lost in the couple of moves i have gone through the past couple years. So he tells me "Absoloutely i can help you with that blah blah blah. Turns out he basically told me Sucks to be you bro, your going to need to re-purchase a new full price OS, because its impossible for them to just send me a replacement disk even though i have the product license key. That there is no way to help me whatsoever regardless of fact that i had already flipping purchased it and been a loyal microsoft customer. That they do not stand behind their products or consumers. So make sure to never lose your install disk or let something accidentally break or damage it (since we all do things like lose or destroy things like that on purpose) or make sure to buy two maybe try and get a bulk discount. Because if something ever happens to ur hard drive and u need to spend a few hundred dollars to replace and fix it and your OS disk is accidently lost or damaged Microsoft can't do a single thing to help you, like oh say send u a replacement disk. Because one of the largest and most profiteering software and electronics innovators and manufacturers in the world cant possibly send a replacement disk: or lazier yet, an .iso image or file that you legally purchased and paid for out the donkey no less. So just be prepared to deal with the greedy, useless, un-loyal SOBS that they are.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat OS

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Pros: I built a killer PC last year (parts mostly came from Newegg) and I got this software through the college where I am a clinical instructor. It has been the most stable, seamless and useable OS I have ever used next to XP. I have worked with 8 and 8.1 and find them to be less than perfect for gaming and some productivity apps. I would highly recommend any of the Windows 7 products.

Cons: Now that 8 is out and Microsoft is pushing it so hard, I'm surprised that the cost of the 7 products hasn't fallen more.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Pros: Affordable

Cons: Repair feature didn't fix my installation by removing the Windows 7 Ultimate Recovered Option from selective start up. However, I can probably use BCD edit to currect this.

2 out of 5 eggsOK...but

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Pros: Fast delivery...fair price

Cons: The license key on the envelope is SO SMALL and obscured by the holographic image that it is NOT readable. I'm not kidding...this is STUPID. The software arrived yesterday, I had hoped to install but now I'm going to have to go buy a magnifying glass. I have perfect vision...this is a major pain in the rear.

5 out of 5 eggsBefore 8

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Pros: One of the best OS that MS released. I find Win8 to be more awkward to use (even 8.1 Pro) and far more usable across all my apps.

Cons: Will probably be sunsetted in 2-3 years, just like XP.

Other Thoughts: I would prefer that Win8.1 have the same screen format at Start as Win7 Ult 64 so that I don't have to move out of the "tablet format" Win 8 uses.
