3 out of 5 eggsOK

Pros: Price and great O.S.

Cons: The packaging is down right stupid! Literally had to go to the store to buy a magnifying glass to read the license key...the printing was micro-miniature!

5 out of 5 eggsWindow 7 Ultimate is Great!!!

Pros: It's not Windows 8. It's much like my Win 7 Pro systems, but with extra options.

Cons: The last of the good Windows OS line.

Other Thoughts: Well milk it as long as I did Win XP.

5 out of 5 eggsLove Windows 7

Pros: Its not Windows 8! I had this a while back, my PC died, bought a new one with Windows 8 - hated it! Now I am building my own custom computer and I am going back to Windows 7! MUCH HAPPIER.

Cons: None that I have encountered.

1 out of 5 eggsMicrosoft </= Bad

Pros: It does work, most of the time. You can play Direct-X games. It's not Windows 8

Cons: 3,000 characters is not enough for me to list the Cons of any Windows OS. Keeping it short. Microsoft does not make any good OS. Unfortunately most of us are forced to use it by software developers. I'll stop there before I get on a rant.

Other Thoughts: If you are not gaming or using any software only available for windows use Linux Mint. It's free! and it's awesome. You can Facebook just fine. Trust me on this one. Save that money for something else.

4 out of 5 eggsIf you have to Windows, Windows 7.

Pros: Industry standard for any kind of game development or serious programming. Obviously most games are designed for Windows (though, thankfully, that's fading). Windows 7 is everything Windows Vista was supposed to be.

Most importantly, it's not Windows 8.

Cons: Running a Microsoft environment is expensive. I mean, I've joked about it before, but $1,200 in software later I have a development platform that rivals my totally free primary operating system: Gentoo.

There is no mistaking when you run Windows that your experience is modeled after whatever is best for Microsoft, not whatever is best for you (or even makes much sense from a technical standpoint).

The worst con? You can't customize the interface without downloading a 3rd party app to hack some system DLLs... you know... because that's not dicey at all.

Other Thoughts: I find it amusing that I don't get any 3rd party advertisements or sales pitches when I use Linux. Running Windows, however, almost everything is packaged with bloatware.

Yesterday I installed the Java Runtime Environment only to have Oracle ask me if I'd like to install the Ask.com search bar with Internet Explorer and change my default search engine to Ask.com...

What is this? 1994?

4 out of 5 eggsThey are cutting corners

Pros: Nice, clean, compact OS that to me is much better than Wi8

Cons: I owe an apology to those who spoke of the small print. I've installed many OEM versions of Win 7 U and didn't realize they had changed the packaging and labeling. It comes in an envelope with a small label. The new labels are much smaller and very difficult to read. It's small, imprecise print on a difficult background. A magnifying glass, a good light, and a bit of guessing is needed to read the KEY. Has the bugs typical for validation. Most validate quickly, but occasionally there is one that just isn't logical. After using it on a computer for two years, it came up with "You must validate to use". Then it tells me it can't be installed on that computer after using that specific install for nearly 2 years. No hardware or software changes. Reseated everything! So, it'll be an hour or more talking to a non English speaking tech at the help desk for an hour or more trying to convince them, "Yes, I've done all that and no, it's the same computer with no changes except I cleaned the dirt out.

Other Thoughts: I like Win 7 although XP Pro had a much better search. I much prefer Win7 to Win 8.

5 out of 5 eggsjust as advertised

Pros: Just as advertised and comes with the COA license and Disk

Cons: No conss other than hard to read the license code on sticker if you have bad eyes, but you can't blame anybody but Microsoft for that one.

4 out of 5 eggsWindows 7

Pros: Installed fast, way better then windows 8

Cons: The serial code is way to small could barley read it, can with a card board case for the price you would think it came with a plastic case

Other Thoughts: Pricey, but this is way better than windows 8
