Pros: It was basically free, but I suppose you get what you pay for.

Cons: Everytime this blasted thing tries to update itself, it nukes Windows.

After Windows recovers, it usually then takes out Firefox too.

McAfee's only answer is that I need to reset the options in IE (which I don't even use.) Their only other answer is to allow one of their offshore support reps to RD into the machine and "fix it for me" (that won't ever happen, and any company that insists on it simply gets fired.)

Trying to get to work with one of their second line support reps was a comedy of errors. I never actually did get to talk to one; apparently their time is so valuable that they dictate when I'm to be available to them, if I want their assistance.

Other Thoughts: If you can live with it, you can get a good deal on the product. If not, well, AV software is plentiful and not that expensive.

Pros: it runs and does a fairly decent job at viruses see cons

Cons: the product implies that it is total protection for your computer although what I incorrectly assumed is that it would protect from everything including malware which it does not. All I had was simple adware on my computer known as quiknowledge and it couldn't even detect it was adware. however malwarebytes free version managed to detect and remove. hence the 2 eggs

Pros: 5 stars to Newegg for the BEST VALUE.......but........

Cons: I was FRUSTRATED with so called McAfee rebate folks. Although each of the rebate customer care were courteous and patient, it was only after constant follow up I got rewarded. It was much better last 2 times I brought it. But this time they never seem to have got the original documentation via postal mail although the tracking number of USPS showed that it was delivered. Later I was asked to fax the documentation 2 times with different customer care. I even emailed the scanned copies of the requisite documentation. Finally after umpteen number of chat sessions I was able to recover my $65. Now I need to use that debit card and see if it has the promised amount loaded in it.

Other Thoughts: Preferably use a tracking number for postal mail. That way you can give the rebate folks the proof that you had posted and it was delivered. PLEASE REMEMBER TO TAKE A COPY OF EACH DOCUMENT YOU MAIL via post and keep those copies safely till you actually receive your rebate. This comes very handy if a situation like mine arises where the rebate folks claim that they have never received the original copies. Again the customer care folks are are courteous, patient and very friendly. But still only because of my constant follow up I could recover my rebate.

Pros: FREE with rebate.

Cons: Almost as useless as nothing at all.

Other Thoughts: I am not a so called "computer professional" I maintain a fair amount of computers for people. When people bring me a computer with viruses or malware one of the most common components is McAfee. I am not impressed with this software.

Pros: NEWEGG LOW PRICE OF $0 AFTER REBATE,THE BEST FIREWALL WITH IDS

Cons: HARD TO DOWNLOAD FROM CONFUSING WEBSITE,BUY THE DVD ,NOT THE DIGITAL DOWNLOAD

Pros: Full protection, high detection rate

Cons: Huge impact to performance. Because of this software, the running speed of my computer is now less than 1/3 of the previous.

Other Thoughts: A web link that used to take 5 seconds to load now takes more than 2 minutes to load. The impact to PC speed performance is simply unbearable. The PC has become almost impossible to use because of the slow running speed. Finally I have removed McAee Total Protection to chose antivirus software from another software vendor.

Pros: This is just a "heads up" not a review. As such, I will score the product as neutral. The product has to be downloaded (after a key card is first sent to you). Yes, I see it says "Product Key Card." I just missed it, is all and maybe someone else will, too. (What I didn't miss was the picture of a box. Gothca.)

Cons: Presumably, it has to be downloaded 3 times if you want to use 3 licenses. I dislike having to download software intensly - but maybe it's just me. Anyway, I won't be using it, so I can't review the product itself. Too bad I'm not asked to review the marketing.

Other Thoughts: I sometimes despair over the naivety displayed in the ratings on this site, I really do... They are soooo easily bought. Scary to think that some of these kids can vote.

Pros: 1. Free after rebate card.
2. Free shipping.
3. Its a decent name brand.
4. I enjoy free things :)
5. Newegg is awesome as usual.

Cons: None. How do you seriously complain about something that is free after a full rebate and no shipping cost?? :)

Other Thoughts: I buy most anti-virus software when it is free after rebate with free shipping on Newegg and only Newegg. I just horde them. I have a small stack of them in the corner of my office/gaming room. I have some with a 3yr sub and some with a 1yr sub. I have bought so many over the months. I will never have to buy it again or spend money on it. I will just toss it and use a new code from another antivirus when the time comes :) :)

People who subscribe to these antivirus programs yearly and spend that crazy amount have no idea you can get it for free basically. The ONLY downside is you have to wait for the rebate card which is no big deal.

Pros: Great software, reliable, very fast updates to new threats, free with rebate - so overall nothing better than this!

Cons: PC response slow when updating
