5 out of 5 eggsAdobe PS 11

Pros: Good pricing, great delivery, everything intact and nothing smashed or broken

Cons: don't need the mac soft ware

Other Thoughts: wish they would include a how to manual to explain in more detail and step by step info

5 out of 5 eggsReally Good

Pros: It's Photoshop! Great for all your photo needs. Editing is a breeze. Even if your new to Photoshop the "guided" option makes things easy. If you're familiar choose "Expert" and dive right in. The organizer is a great feature too.

Cons: Not the best for creating .gifs. I would prefer a time line rather than using a layer for each frame. Otherwise it does everything I need.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the upgrade is you are using PSE8 or lower

Pros: I would recommend the PSE11 editor to anyone buying their first license, using PSE8 or lower, or anyone who dislikes the dark grey interface of PSE6-10.

The light gray interface is back

Bigger, easy to see icons

Supports Layer Masks (PSE8 and below does not)

Faster and more stable than PSE9&10

New tools: refine edges, vignette, high key, low key

New filters: Comic, Graphic Novel, Pen & Ink

New 'Quick, Guided & Expert' modes to help new users

Cons: I would not recommend the PSE11 editor as an upgrade for PSE9&10 users because the core tools seem the same and the new tools seem more like a novelty than an necessity.

Still a 32bit application

You still must install the organizer

All PSE11 Help files are online only

Has a few bugs (Normal stuff)

Tilt & nudge tools seem jumpy if your not zoomed in

Other Thoughts: Take it with a grain of salt:
I have several years experience in the PSE editor & I am an experienced home user, but I am NOT a professional graphic artist or photographer.

I am commenting on the PSE11 editor only and only as used on a PC with a mouse. I do NOT use the PSE organizer, any of the social media functions, or MAC hardware so I cannot comment on them.

For years I have been using PSE5 because I refused to use the eye straining dark grey interface of PSE6-10. I have tested or used every version since 4 and like versions 5 and 11 best.

See the adobe website for a full feature comparison between versions.

Overall I am happy with the move from PSE5 to PSE11 and would do it again.

System specs:
Core I3 550 3.2Ghz DualCore with HT
8GB Crucial DDR3 1333 RAM
ASUS P7-P55D-E LX motherboard
ASUS Geforce GT430 128bit 1GB DDR3 PCIE 2.0
Crucial M4 CT128 Solid state drive
Windows 7 64Bit SP1 - DX11

2 out of 5 eggsNo big upgrade features

Pros: Allows you to make most adjustments to your digital pictures but still omits chromatic aberration tool (color fringing), which is needed to fix almost any picture taken with a zoom lens 5x or longer.

Cons: I went from Elements 8 to Elements 11 and found little change in the editing tools. A glaring omission is the tool for fixing chromatic aberration. This tool is desperately needed for photos shot with amateur cameras. Raw adjustment tools have been upgraded so hopefully that will make it worthwhile.
