Cons: It was advertised with a $40 rebate but after over 2 months nothing has shown up. Newegg's policy is that rebates come from the vendor. I use a multilayered virus, anti-malware approach and never had any problems. I've recommend AVG to all my clients and friends. Cons: I don't like how I get the occasional AVG product advertisement. If I wanted to buy AVG PC optimizer or other AVG product, I would have. Other than that, I buy AVG year after year after testing other antivirus software. 3 out of 4 people found this review helpful. I put it on all of my clients computers (some don't want to pay so I install the free version) and have never herd back saying, "My computer is infected and is locking up, running slow, etc...", even with the free version. The scan speed can be adjusted to either run very fast and use a lot of the computer's resources or slow so you can still use the computer for whatever you need, including to play games, or on user sensitive and will adjust to the users activity. Installed for customer and had to go back the next day to uninstall and find them another choice. Interface colors Green Metro look turned customers off and the options section white print on dark background was unreadable by many. Not able to change choices. Probably did good job of scanning but reporting is lacking, so it is impossible to know exactly what it has done. Extremely difficult to install on infected machines and many can require manual cleanup. Initial window cannot be re-sized only minimized or closed. I have not heard a single positive comment from a customer on this new user interface. Purchase at own risk. Other Thoughts: I have been a reseller and installer of AVG products for years and never thought I would leave their products until I experience this version.
