Tuneup Utilities 2013 - 1 PC - OEM

Pros: For a novice (or lazy) user, it is a great tool! It got it on sale for $10. It was worth a look.

Cons: It will automatically do stuff with out asking you first if it's ok. Not cool.

Other Thoughts: It does a lot of what I already do manually, and personally I have a hard time trusting software to do stuff like this for me with out making mistakes. Especially registry cleaning. But for someone who doesn't already know how to do it themselves, I think its a decent product. If you can get it for $10 like I did, go for it. If it's $30 like it is right now, I'd hold off.

Cons: force acceptance of a let this app phone home with personal data and let us send you unsolicited ads. No thanks -- OEM product, non-refundable, complete waste of money. only saving grace is it was bundled with something else greatly reducing the other product price.

Pros: Price, normally I would not buy a product like this. But after the MIR. This item was free...It is fairly easy to use and Im certain it could/would be very helpful to some less experienced users. The program acts as a "central command station" if you will bringing a lot of features, tweaks and utilities into one program.

Cons: Updating has been a problem.
Some of the "tweak" suggestions "could" compromise security. (on a win7 ultimate os anyway) I found following all this programs suggestions for optimization did not allow win7 ult. to auto update.
This program also collects and stores data , yes I understand why they do it, I just see anything that tracks me as a con.

Other Thoughts: Overall a descent program that would be great for a novice user, and ok for a more exp. user.

Pros: Seems to work very well, tried on win7 and win8. Both did fine. Had an inexpensive new laptop with all kinds of crud ware on it (Acer, were talking about you), and the utilities did a nice job of disabling the stuff I could not uninstall. Turned a sluggish NEW machine into a very usable one. Quite happy.

Cons: Has a one check button, that includes a check of the disk fragmentation - that particular check takes forever. Think they should make that optional on the one click check up button.

Other Thoughts: Shop around and get it cheap. I know you can find it for under $20, and it's well worth that price.

Pros: Came bundled with Acronis True Image 2013, so essentially got it for free. OEM version, so just a DVD package and product key, no manual. Still, super easy to install and intuitively easy to use and customize. It found LOADS of things to optimize on my system, which it performed flawlessly. In fact, it cleaned and defragmented the Windows registry -- something that I would never attempt myself. That sort of scratches an itch I've had for a long time with this system. I really like the interface, and how easy it is to use (1-click maintenance, or full blown menu options).

Cons: I guess they could have PAID me to use it, but that's pretty far fetched. For free, bundled software, I'm super pleased with the results.

Other Thoughts: To me, it matters not whether AVG wrote the code themselves, hired someone to write the code for them, or bought the rights to code that was written by someone not affiliated with AVG. Bottom line is: the code works, and it is improving the performance of my computer. For that I'm quite happy. And Newegg rocks.

Pros: Used previous versions for few years. Just upgraded to 2013. The best program for optimizing your computer and its performance! If you know your computer well, just spend one time 10-15 minutes to go manually via all the settings and you will be greatly rewarded! :) But this program also does great job with fast automatic recommended settings too!

Pros: What a beauty! My 4 year old XP was hanging up on internet pages and applications more and more. I tried all sorts of things to fix it, mostly from the internet. Nada.

Got this little gem on one of those lunatic daily specials (or was it shell shocker specials - you know). Loaded seemlessly and what a difference in my computer's performance. And here all along I thought it was me!! Worth the try.

Cons: none so far

Pros: I have past experience with this software and it should be good.

Cons: Problem is the product key that came with the cd is invalid.
Such a huge waste of time. And i was so excited about this. Oh well.

Pros: Easy to set up and works very well. It contains many tools to help speed up your system or customize it.

Other Thoughts: I've been using Tuneup Utilities for at least 5 years and this is one of my favorite utilities. I use it on almost every system I work on or build. So I must say that this is a great utility for any system and well worth the price.

In reference to the person that took off 3 eggs, saying that this isn't AVG software, he is wrong. Tuneup Utilities was purchased by AVG over a year ago. Tuneup utilities is the full license version that allows you to use it indefinitely until you decide to purchase and upgrade to a newer version. The other version is called AVG PC Tuneup which is the subscription base version of Tuneup Utilities that you need to renew every year or so to be able to keep using it.

Pros: This one of a few PC tune up software that I would consider buying, given that there is equivalent free software that can virtually do the same thing.

I've used this program since my first copy in 2005 and have been recommending it to average PC users since.

Newegg had this program on a shell shocker for 9.99 (limit 3), along with a previous promo code that I was able use, I purchased 3 copies for a total of 11.99.
