Cons: Snippets of my time w/ AVG and its tech folk:
I have scans scheduled that never seem to run. No report of a scan for a month. I checked the 'scan

even when computer is sleeping' box no love there!
Uninstall and Reinstall works now

One is not being able to save exclusions to file scanning @ the scan result page. There is NO option for

such! One must manually enter exclusions in at a settings page. Big hassle!
No solution provided by Tech support.

AVGnsa.exe fault followed by BSOD after an unasked for Program Update. There is No option to delay

Updates in settings. This would be a deal killer in and of itself but to make matters worse the Option to

make a Restore Point before a program update is not working. Totally
unacceptable. I just reinstalled last week because the auto scan feature was not working! ( that seems

to be working now).

Second occurrence: BSOD followed by AVG popup saying License is not valid. Entering valid (indicated

on AVG screen) # does not result in activation. I several times after rebooting. I have already

uninstalled and reinstalled AVG several times for various problems. Is there an easier way to get AGV

activated, my time is better spent elsewhere.

Tech support wanted to Remote into computer (the Indian branch denied that but logmein download??)

No other solution available.

This is a total failure on AVG's part IMHO. Try elsewhere

Other Thoughts: I purchased AVG AV 2015 but the engine upgraded to 2016.

Pros: The price was unbelievable and, well it's an AVG product.

Pros: You get what you pay for AVG AntiVirus 2016

Pros: I have never got a virus while using AVG, even the free one. However, I got the ICE virus which is virtually impossible to remove while using a higher grade of MCCafee. They wouldn't even refund me for what the software costs, let alone the computer, which is what most antivirus companies will do.

Cons: none

Pros: I purchase a 1 year subscription to AVG every year on Black Friday. It is great value for $5. I use the free version for friends, and I think the active protection it grants is far better with the paid subscription.

Cons: I wouldn't pay full price for this.

Other Thoughts: Buy a year's subscription on Black Friday.
