bitdefender Sphere – Unlimited Devices

Pros: Being able to use this on unlimited devices was a definite plus. I liked that I could sync my microsoft account to bitdefender's website

Cons: My only complaint is that it doesn't work with windows 8, but if you go to there website they have a the 2013 version does and the password provided in this purchase
WILL still validate the newer version

Other Thoughts: Although I never got my 60 dollar rebate card I'm still overall satisfied with my purchase. If I had known bitdefender was this good NewEgg wouldn't have needed to offer the 60 rebate card to get me to buy it!

Pros: Tons of options and types of protection, free upgrade to newest version and very simple installation. Also can't beat unlimited installs on just about any current device or OS. After reading other reviews of this product I was hesitant to purchase it. Honestly. the excellent reviews of Bitdefender 2013 and the free after rebate price tag were enough for me to give it a shot. So far, I've installed Sphere on two PCs and an Android phone with no issues at all. I'm wondering if prior reviewers were using an older version of Bit defender. I went straight to their site, downloaded 2013 and used my Sphere key to activate. I never put the CD in my drive. I haven't experienced any slow down at all. Even my underpowered netbook works well with it and I feel well protected against viruses, malware ect. It's an excellent buy even at full price. But free is always better. :)

Cons: Long list, but mainly it causes one`s system to just absolutely drag/hang when trying to do anything. Then the inept company jumps in. I had a one year purchase, last year, YES it was free after the rebate. I started having problems with the AVS, got to really looking at what I was led to believe was an auto type system, which didn`t require any babysitting, and found it had neither updated, or scanned in nearly 3 months. Still showing I had 200+ days of ownership. But it would not work.

Couldn`t nuke this junk off of my machine, had to call them, and they said, oh I need to update, no mention of free update. I said no way, later some other cust service person says, oh we are so sorry, free upgrade.

By that time I had just decided to nuke the hard drive, and start over with a real product. If you want free, just go to Microsoft, and download their free AVS, it doesn`t work either, but at least you can nuke it off your system.

Pros: Works with mac, android, and windows, unlimited devices, decent intereface

Cons: lacks features within firewall configuration, you have to add adapter zones to allow network drives, network printers or servers to be accessed, however, only by IP address, host name is not option nor can you add specific network like a college campus.
I also feel that you should have an option to use any software, not just the Total Security

Other Thoughts: Scanner works, has protected me thus far
Customer support never responded to an inquiry into my networking problems and I'd rather not have to disable my AV and Firewall to access a printer server
I should have stuck with Norton IS

Pros: Does what it says! Powerful!

Cons: Some minor bugs but updates and tech support ironed those out!

Other Thoughts: Great product and will not bloat your system. If your computer is infected or not optimized do not expect this as a fix all! But on a clean running PC it works great

Other Thoughts: This product is sort of a mixed bag for me. The scans work very well, and it has a lot of options to work with, including social networking protection and identity theft protection.
This is all fine and dandy, but perhaps there is a bit too much. I have had it block "port scans" when I am trying to install a printer, and other ridiculous things.
In addition, it did not work with Windows 8, and it was a bit overly-complicated to find the update needed to get it to work.
This program is very, very, very slow. When I start up, it takes a good one minute or more to finally load, and often stops many of my other autostart programs from ever starting. I have to open them manually.
Overall, it's a very powerful product, and I love that I can put it on all of my devices. But it is slow and bloated, and doesn't play nicely with some other programs. It's also extremely expensive.

Pros: Price, OSX Windows Android all in 1 software package. Gaming mode, unlimited installs

Other Thoughts: Protect all your devices across all your platforms for 1 low price. Bitdefender is always in top very top for protection. This software also uses low system resources.

Pros: Slick interface. I guess

Cons: Well, where to begin. Here's some rough numbers.

1. Before install my boot times from my SSD were about 8-10 seconds to workable desktop.

After BitDefender (BD) it was about 30.

2. Right clicking on files? Instant.

After BD, ~3 seconds of blue ring before data pops up.

3. Uninstall was atrocious. You have to download a BD removal tool in some cases.

4. They've managed through some marketing trick to get placed first the "top ten" in most AV comparisons. How droll. Symantec smokes this product, and hardly saying anything.

5. Customer service no help at all. Tech support even less so. They believe their product walks on water and cures cancer. In reality it bogs your computer down and locks up your games.

Other Thoughts: May be good for someone who is paranoid about security. It does limit virus capability by rendering your computer unusable by anyone.
