Cons: Fine Reader 11.0 Professional does not support features explained in the users manual, When I contacted the support group I was told That the task I was trying use is only available in the corporate edition. Basically it's PDF to PDF, but the software calls it "image to PDF". Anyway, the OCR is pretty good, but I do have to go through and look for mistakes, however the interface for doing so is good, allowing you to compare the original (before OCR) to the OCRed version. It highlights the words/letters it's unsure of. It has great output options, as well as options to fix the scanned image to make it easier to OCR. Slow compared to ReadIris 11 - I find it about 2.5-3 times slower Activation requires your personal details - I call this spyware - feel like fool Pay money and then have to share personal data. Other Thoughts: I am really disappointed by the awful output image/scan quality and privacy evasion. If this would not be SW - I would definitely returned it as not fit given task. What I recently learned, though, was a shocker. I am one who, from time to time rebuilds his computer. That is, I scrub the hard drive, reload the OS, apps and data. It is time consuming but produces a really clean computer free of the infamous blue screens of death. IF you do this, or change computers, you are going to be in trouble sooner than you realize. Abbyy limits the number of fresh installations to five. After that, you will have to pay Abbyy again as if you were a new or upgrading customer.
