It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but if you want to convert printed documents or your computer screen to editable Word documents this does the job. I need to do that sort of thing every once and a while and this programs does it well. It makes a few (very few!) mistakes, but that's expected for this type of program. It retains layout and font characteristics very well. It reads from your scanner or image files. Cons: It does not imbed small graphics very well, but that's OK with me. saharette 4/7/2012 12:50:38 AM Tech Level: 5/5 Ownership: 3/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5accurate, handy, useful, classic top-notch pattern converter Pros: This product was bundled with Corel VSX4, so get it basically for free, but I would have paid the $50 now that I know how simple and easy to use this product. I use this product to convert screen shot of Motif windows into text; along X display provided by cygwin, this product works like a charm: 1 click, draw a rectangle, and image converted into text, finally paste the content of the clipboard anywhere you want. Simple and precise. Cons: on line activation/registration is something that I avoid. it went smoothly this time, but what if the registration server is down, or there is no internet route to the registration server, or the company is no longer in existence. I prefer regular old fashion activation with a simple key. Other Thoughts: I hope Abbyy won't enhance this software is keep it simple, the way it is. Enehacement in feature is OK, but not adding a dozen of useless flashy option, and tying the product with Java or VB and making it a memory munger, the way Microsoft did with MS-Office - latest useful version 2003. 3 out of 5 people found this review helpful. I have no idea what to do with this piece of software. For scanning, I have better GNU software. Other Thoughts: it was free, installed, messed around with it, enless processing on scanning. Cons: I am glad there was a 100% rebate for this because it is NOT a fully functional package.
